Why won't my Troy-Bilt Trimmer start?
- JJoseph EvansJul 30, 2025
If your Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine won't start, several issues could be the cause. First, ensure the fuel tank isn't empty; if it is, fill it with properly-mixed fuel. If the engine is flooded, press the throttle lockout, squeeze the throttle control, and pull the starter rope until the engine starts. Old or improperly mixed fuel can also be a culprit, so drain the tank and add fresh fuel. A fouled spark plug should be replaced. Also, make sure you have pressed the primer bulb 10 times. Finally, refer to the Starting Instructions in the Starting and Stopping section to ensure the choke lever was flipped.
