Why Troy-Bilt TB4214 engine will not start?
    • M
      monica62Aug 14, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Troy-Bilt chainsaw engine from starting. The fuel tank might be empty; if so, fill it with properly-mixed fuel. The primer bulb may not have been pressed enough; press it 10 times or until fuel is visible. The engine could be flooded; in that case, move the choke knob to Position 2, press the throttle lockout, squeeze the throttle control, and pull the starter rope. Old or improperly mixed fuel (over 30 days) can also be a culprit; drain the fuel tank and add fresh, properly-mixed fuel. Lastly, the spark plug may not be working properly; refer to Maintaining the Spark Plug.
