      Steven TylerAug 14, 2025
If your Troy-Bilt Trimmer won't idle, there are a few potential causes. The air filter may be plugged, so replace or clean it. If your Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine lacks power or stalls, consider these possible causes. Old fuel (over 30 days) can be a culprit, so drain the fuel tank and add fresh fuel. A fouled spark plug can also cause these issues, so replace or clean the spark plug. If the outside temperature is above 90°F, move the choke lever to Position 2, press the primer bulb 10 times, squeeze the throttle control and pull the starter rope until the unit starts. • E
      elizabethlewisAug 20, 2025
If the cutting attachment on your Troy-Bilt Trimmer isn't advancing line, several issues could be the cause. These include: * Cutting attachment bound with grass: Stop the engine and clean cutting attachment. * Cutting attachment out of line: Refill with new line. * Inner reel bound up: Replace the inner reel. * Cutting head dirty: Clean inner reel and outer spool. * Line welded: Disassemble, remove the welded section and rewind. * Line twisted when refilled: Disassemble and rewind the line. * Not enough line is exposed: Push the bump head and pull out line until 4 inches (102 mm) of line is outside of the cutting attachment. * Oil, cleaner or lubricant in cutting head: Clean and thoroughly dry the cutting head.
