What to do if the cutting head of my Troy-Bilt TB304C EC will not advance line?
    • A
      Adrienne ClarkAug 6, 2025
If the cutting head on your Troy-Bilt Trimmer won't advance the line, several issues could be the cause. First, stop the engine and clean the cutting head if it is bound with grass. If the cutting head is out of line, refill it with new line. You should also clean the inner reel and outer spool in case the inner reel is bound up. If the cutting head is dirty, open it and remove any welded sections. If the line is welded, rewind it. If the line is twisted, stop the unit, push the bump knob, and pull the line until 4 inches (102 mm) are outside of the cutting head. If not enough line is extended, clean and thoroughly dry the cutting head.

Why does my Troy-Bilt TB304C EC engine lack power or stall?
    • A
      Amber Roth DVMSep 12, 2025
Your Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine might lack power or stall due to several reasons. Old fuel (over 30 days) can cause this issue, so drain the fuel tank and add fresh fuel. Also, a dirty air filter can restrict airflow, so clean or replace it. Lastly, a fouled spark plug can also lead to power loss, so replace it if necessary.

    • Y
      Yolanda BellAug 25, 2025
If your Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine won't accelerate, it could be due to a few reasons. Start by draining the fuel tank and adding fresh fuel if the fuel is old (over 30 days). Another possibility is that the cutting head is bound with grass; if so, stop the engine and clean the cutting head. A dirty air filter can also cause acceleration problems, so clean or replace it.

Why Troy-Bilt TB304C EC engine will not idle?
    • A
      April SilvaAug 30, 2025
If your Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine won't idle, it could be due to a dirty air filter; clean or replace it. Old fuel (over 30 days) can also cause idling issues, so drain the fuel tank and add fresh fuel. Also, the idle speed might be incorrect, so adjust the idle speed.
