Why Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine will not start?
    • C
      Cody SandovalJul 26, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Troy-Bilt Trimmer from starting. It could be due to an empty fuel tank, so ensure you fill it with fuel. Check that you have pressed the primer bulb fully and slowly 10 times. Make sure the On/Off control is in the ON position, not STOP. Old or improperly mixed fuel can also be a culprit, so drain the tank and add fresh fuel. A fouled spark plug or a plugged spark arrestor may also be the reason; in that case, replace or clean the spark plug and clean or replace the spark arrestor.

What to do if Troy-Bilt Trimmer cutting attachment will not advance line?
    • D
      Danielle BirdJul 31, 2025
If the cutting attachment on your Troy-Bilt Trimmer won't advance the line, here are some things to check: 1. Stop the engine and clean the cutting attachment if it's bound with grass. 2. Refill with new line if the cutting attachment is out of line. 3. Replace the inner reel if it's bound up. 4. Clean the inner reel and outer spool if the cutting head is dirty. 5. Disassemble, remove the welded section, and rewind if the line is welded. 6. Disassemble and rewind the line if it's twisted. 7. Push the bump knob and pull out the line until 4 inches (102 mm) of line is outside of the cutting attachment if not enough line is exposed.

If your Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine lacks power or stalls while cutting, consider these potential causes: old or improperly mixed fuel, which requires draining the gas tank and adding fresh fuel; improper carburetor adjustment, which may need adjustment according to the Carburetor Adjustments section or professional servicing; a fouled spark plug, suggesting replacement or cleaning; or a plugged spark arrestor, which should be cleaned or replaced.

Why Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine will not accelerate?
    • T
      Tracy LewisAug 15, 2025
If your Troy-Bilt Trimmer engine won't accelerate, it might be due to several reasons. Old or improperly mixed fuel could be the problem, so drain the gas tank and add fresh fuel. The carburetor might need adjustment, either by following the Carburetor Adjustments section or by taking it to a service dealer. Also, check if the cutting attachment is bound with grass and clean it if necessary. A dirty air filter or a plugged spark arrestor can also cause this issue; clean or replace them as needed.
