About these instructions Combi D

1.7.1 Handling tools
Observe the operating instructions for manual pow-
er tools (circular saw, jigsaw, cordless screwdriver,
grinder).
Wear personal protective equipment.
1.7.2 Creating cut-outs and holes
When a cut-out is being made, there is a risk of damag-
ing existing cables / pipes.
Check whether there are water, electricity, gas, brake
lines etc. or parts of the chassis near the intended
cut-out.
If you are unsure, ask the vehicle manufacturer
about cable and pipe installations.
Cover sensitive areas (electronics, carpet, glass,
etc.) to protect them from drilling chips or falling
workpieces.
1.7.3 Handling fuels
All lines containing fuel (diesel lines) must be tightly
connected and must not be damaged. If fuel lines are
damaged or leaking, the appliance must not be operat-
ed until the damage has been rectified.
When diesel lines are opened, residual diesel may leak.
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Do not inhale vapours.
No smoking, no naked flames.
1.7.4 Handling exhaust gases
Due to the risk of poisoning or suffocation, diesel ap-
pliances may not be operated in enclosed spaces such
as garages or workshops that do not have an exhaust
extraction or ventilation system.
This applies also to operation via remote controls, such
as selected time or timer functions in control panels,
remote controls, apps on mobile devices or the
TrumaDiagnose Tool.
Ensure adequate ventilation. Switch on the ventila-
tion system or extraction system.
Carry out longer function tests outdoors or in an
enclosed space only with a suitable ventilation /
extraction system.
1.7.5 Handling hot surfaces
During operation, such as during test runs, the surfaces of
some components can become very hot. Depending on
the type of appliance, these can include the exhaust cowl,
exhaust duct, heat exchanger, burner, flame tube, electric
heating rods, warm air ducts, fans, installation boxes, etc.
Do not touch hot surfaces.
Do not touch parts until they have cooled down
again.
At the initial start-up there could some remaining instal-
lation material that could ignite on hot surfaces.
Following installation, remove flammable material (such
as paper, cardboard, polystyrene, wood shavings, ad-
hesives) from any surfaces that may become hot.
1.7.6 Handling electricity
Only qualified electricians may work on electrical
systems.
Observe country-specific and voltage-related rules
and regulations.
Take account of the vehicle's specific features.
Ensure the necessary workplace safety and wear
personal protective equipment.
1.7.7 Mains voltage 230 V~
Some parts of the appliance may be live. Touching live
parts can be fatal or lead to serious injuries.
When working on electrical installations or compo-
nents, switch off the power supply, for example by
means of fuses or residual current circuit-breakers
on the vehicle's main distribution board. Prevent the
power supply from being switched back on.
Motor homes and caravans may have self-sufficient
230V~ power supplies (e.g. inverter, generator, solar
panels).
Pay heed to self-sufficient power supply.
Motor homes and caravans may have an external
socket for mains supply. Make sure when carrying out
electrical work in the vehicle that no other person can
unintentionally plug a live connector cable into the ex-
ternal socket.
External power supply should be prevented for this
purpose. For example, insert a blanking plug with
the warning “Caution! Electrical work under way in
the vehicle” into the external socket.
1.7.8 Battery voltage 12 V=
Parts of the appliances are supplied via the on-board
power supply by 12Vbatteries. In case of high electri-
cal loads or a short circuit very high currents may flow
in the cables which make the cables hot and may lead
to cable fire.
Follow the installation instructions. Especially in-
formation about cable cross-sections, fuses and
insulation.
1.7.9 Protection against electrostatic discharge
(ESD)
Electrostatic charges can damage electronic compo-
nents (circuit boards).
Observe the ESD regulations.
Ensure potential compensation before touching the
electronics.
