Connection Options
In additional to the Wand, Venom-X4 supports 3 types of devices simultaneously -- 3rd party mouse or Venom-X4
mouse, keyboard and console controller, but only one of each type is recognized. The connected controller works only
with its own console, cross-platform usage is not supported. For example, the PS4 controller can’t be used on the
XBox One console.
Important Note:
It is different from the older Venom-X, the Venom-X4 doesn’t have the Host Select switch, it identifies the console
platform or PC according to what controller is attached. In order to keep the Transceiver in proper mode, a
controller MUST be connected all the time during the game play.
For XBox360 console, as the original wireless controller has no wired data function, user MUST have an official
Wired controller or a 3rd party Wired XBox360 controller to work with Venom-X4.
External Power Supply
It is the same as an USB hub, the power supply to all the devices attached on the Transceiver eventually comes
from the console USB port which is limited to maximum 500mA. The controller would draw more than 200mA
power to charge its battery meanwhile the Venom-X4’s circuit consumes 170-250mA, that will pretty much
reach the power limit of single USB port. Therefore, when a keyboard and a mouse are connected to the Trans-
ceiver, the console USB port could be on “over-current” condition. A LED lighted keyboard or a wireless mouse
with built-in rechargeable battery could instantly cause the console shuts down the port. To resolve this problem,
Venom-X4 equipped with an External power supply port on its back panel as showing below:
When connecting a keyboard or 3rd party mouse to the Transceiver, the external power supply is needed.
User can connect the EXT Power port to the console’s second USB port (if it is not in used) or a 5V cell phone
charger to get extra power supply.
Important Note:
Some new cell phones may have the Fast/Quick charger which could output 9V or higher voltage, it could damage
the Transceiver and the console if the 9V is output, please consult the charger manufacturer to make sure it can
detect the standard USB 2.0 device and output 5V instead of high voltage.
The warranty does not cover your console and Venom-X4’s damage lose caused by using non-5V charger.
