► CLEANING AND CHANGING FILTERS
■ Engine Oil Filter
Using a filter wrench turn the filter counterclockwise to
remove it. Lightly smear the rubber seal on the new
filter with oil to ensure, turn it clockwise until the seal
contacts the base and then turn it another 2/3 turn to tighten it.
■ Fuel filter
Turn the valve for the fuel lines (if equipped) to the OFF
position before performing this maintenance.
Place a tray under the fuel filter in order to catch any
fuel that might spill. Clean up any spilled fuel immediately.
1. Open the fuel drain (1) and drain the fuel into a suitable container.
2. Remove the Filter bowl (2) from the Filter head.
3. Rotate the element counterclockwise in order to release
the element for the filter bowl and remove the element
from the bowl. Discard the element.
4. Install a new O ring seal to the filter bowl.

■ Water separator
-Drain the Separated water
1. Place a suitable container below the water separator.
2. Open the drain (5). Allow the fluid to drain into the container
3. When clean fuel drains from the water separator close the drain (5).
4. Tighten the drain by hand pressure only.
Dispose of the drained fluid correctly.
-Replace the Element
1. Place a suitable container under the water separator.
2. Open the drain plug (5)
3. Tighten the drain (5) by hand pressure only.
4. Hold the element (2) and remove the screw (1).
Remove the element and glass bowl (3) from the base.
5. Install the New element and Filter body.
6. Remove air in accordance with removing method of the air from fuel system.

*Water separator
4. Install a new O ring seal to the filter bowl.
5. Tighten the filter bowl by hand until the filter bowl contracts
the filter head.
