To remove the dye-film carrier turn the “Dzus”
fastener ring a quarter turn counter-clockwise,
the dye film carrier can then be removed.

Remove the roll of dye film from its wrapper
and slide it over the bottom feed core.
Also fit an empty take up roll over the top core.
Important:-
Ensure the two locating notches are facing to
the left on both the top and bottom rolls, as
shown in diagram right>>>.

Replace the Film Carrier, with the empty take up
spool facing the top.

Dye-Film Installation Steps

Remove Dye-Film Carrier

Turn the Dzus fastener ring counter-clockwise to remove the dye-film carrier.

Load Dye Film and Take-Up Roll

Slide dye film onto bottom feed core and empty take-up roll onto top core, ensuring notches face left.

Replace Film Carrier

Replace the Film Carrier with the empty take-up spool facing the top.

Engage Spool Locking Pins

Turn take-up spool drive gear or Spur Gear to align spool notches with locking pins.

Secure Dzus Fastener

Turn the Dzus Fastener clockwise a quarter turn to lock it in place.

Prepare Dye Film

Pull approximately 6 inches of dye film off the roll, ensuring it comes from the top.

Position Film on Printhead

Feed film over the thermal printhead and beneath the guide bar, sticking the edge to the take-up spool.

Wind Dye Film

Wind the dye film a couple of turns to ensure it is centered on the take-up core.

Special Note: Fitting Continuous Resin or Single Colour Dye Film

Modification for Specific Dye Films

Modification required for UR3 Continuous Resin and UR10 Single Colour dye films due to inoperative optical sensors.

Modification on White Plastic Take-Up Gear

Remove steel pin from take-up spool spigot; fit provided rubber washer before spool attachment.

Modification on Black Dye Film Take-Up Gear

Turn locking screw anti-clockwise to drop tab flush with the dye film take-up spigot.
