Note: It is strongly recommended to use the default
installation folders for data files as other folders
may have special security restrictions placed on
them. For example, Windows 7/2008 does not
allow files in the ‘Program Files’ folders to be
deleted by non-admin users.
Depending on the number of channels you are using, the
viewLinc Server machine should also meet the following
requirements:
Large size installation (400-5000 channels)
• a dedicated machine
• 3.2 GHz, Quad Core
•4 GB RAM
• sufficient HD space to support 200KB/channel/day
For example, if you have 400 channels, you will need
approximately 30GB (400x200x365) per year.
Medium size installation (20-400 channels)
• machine may be shared with other applications
• 1.6 GHz Dual Core
•4 GB RAM
• sufficient HD space to support 200KB/channel/day
For example, if you have 40 channels, you will need
approximately 3GB (40x200x365) per year.
Small installation (<20 channels)
• 1.6 GHz
•2 GB RAM
• sufficient HD space to support 200KB/channel/day
For example, if you have 4 channels, you will need
approximately 300MB (4x200x365) per year.
