The Sentinel Apex is a Commercial Heat Recovery Demand Energy Recovery Ventilation (D-ERV) system designed for modern building management and control principles, offering high performance and efficiency. It is manufactured with a double-skinned construction, incorporating Aluzinc frames and panels that are acoustically and thermally treated with 90kg/m³ high-efficiency insulating foam (fire retardant to BS476 Part 7 Class 1 & Part 6 Class O). The unit's construction, rated IPX4, allows for internal and external mounting as standard, though a roof assembly is required for full external locations. The housing is compact, designed for concealed false ceiling applications, with top and bottom access panels sized for single-person maintenance.
Function Description:
The Sentinel Apex unit provides up to 93% EN308 heat recovery efficiency, low sound levels, and low specific fan powers. It features an advanced integrated control system with onboard control, in-room control, and App-based control for full functionality, commissioning, and monitoring. This control system can be integrated with Vent-Axia's range of wired or wireless sensors (CO2, humidity, and temperature) for precise indoor air quality control and monitoring. The unit incorporates the latest EC/DC external rotor motors, chosen for their low power consumption and low noise characteristics. These motors are dynamically balanced to DIN ISO 1940 Grade 6.3, with ball bearings greased for life and Class 'B' insulation (from -25°C to +60°C). All models include internal electronic overload protection and a soft start function.
An integral electric frost heater is included for frost protection of the heat recovery cell and filters down to -10°C, and can also be used as a top-up heater. The unit is equipped with an integral summer bypass facility designed to provide full bypass without impacting airflow or power consumption. Airflow and power consumption are tested in accordance with BS EN 5801. Sound data is derived from independent testing at Sound Research Laboratories in accordance with EN ISO 3741:2010, with published dB(A) figures representing free-field sound pressure levels at 3m with spherical propagation. An integral condensate tray and a quiet, high-quality pump allow for condensate removal via a 10mm pipe.
