and out of the reach of children. The cylinder must never be
stored where temperatures can reach over 50. Do not
store the cylinder near ammable objects, pilot lights or
other sources of ignion. DO NOT SMOKE NEAR THE
CYLINDER(S).
This barbecue is designed for outdoor use. Keep away from
any ammable materials. Ensure that there are no
overhead obstrucons and there is a minimum distance of
1m from all sides of the appliance. It is important that the
venlaon openings of the appliance are not obstructed.
The barbecue must be used on a level, stable surface. The
appliance should be protected from direct ow of air and
should be posioned or protected against direct contact by
any trickling water (e.g., rain).
Take precauons when changing the gas cylinder. Keep it
away from any source of ignion.
Parts sealed by the manufacturer or its agent must not be
altered by the user. No modicaons should be made to
any part of this barbecue and repairs and maintenance
should only be carried out by a registered service engineer.
4. Connecon to Appliance
Before connecon, ensure that there is no debris caught in
the head of the gas cylinder, regulator, burner and burner
parts. Spiders and insects can nest within and clog the
burner/venturi tube at the orice. A clogged burner can
lead to re beneath the appliance.
Clean burner holes with a heavy-duty pipe cleaner.
Fit the hose to the appliance using a spanner to ghten it
onto the connecon thread. If the hose is replaced it must
be secured to the appliance and regulator connecons with
hose clips. Disconnect the regulator from the cylinder when
the barbecue is not in use . Follow the direcons supplied
with the regulator.
The barbecue must be used in a well-venlated area. Do
not obstruct the ow of combuson air to the burner when
the barbecue is in use.
5 Note: only use this barbecue outdoors.
Before use check for leaks
6 Do not check for leaks with a naked ame. always use a
soapy water soluon.
Make 2-3 ounces/75-90 ml of leak detecng soluon by
mixing one part washing liquid with 3 parts water.
Ensure the control valve is OFF.
Connect the regulator to the cylinder and ON/OFF valve to
the burner, ensure the connecons are secure then turn ON
the gas.
Brush the soapy soluon on the hose and all joints. If
bubbles appear you have a leak, which must be reced
before use.
Retest aer xing the fault.
Turn OFF the gas at the cylinder aer tesng.
If leakage is detected, do not aempt to repair it. Consult
your gas dealer.
5.3 Lighng your barbecue (main burner)
1. Open the lid and make sure that all burners are in OFF
posion.
2. Connect the regulator to the gas bole. Turn the gas supply
“ON” at the regulator. Check with soapy water for any gas
leakage between the bole and the regulator.
3. Push down the second control knob and turn it
counterclockwise. This will light the second burner. Always
turn on the second burner rst.
4. Turn other burners on by turning the control knob to HI
posion.
5. If the burner does not light within 5 seconds, turn the knob
to OFF posion and repeat Step 3.
6. If the burner fails to ignite, turn the control knob o
(clockwise). Also, turn the cylinder valve o. Wait 5 minutes
and repeat Step 3.
7. Adjust the heat by turning the knob to the High/Low
posion.
8. To turn the barbecue “OFF” turn the cylinder valve or
regulator switch to the “OFF” posion. Then turn the
control knob on the appliance clockwise to the “OFF”
posion.
9. Size of Cooking Vessels: The side burner can be used with
saucepans which have a diameter between 16 cm and 22
cm with at booms. The burner must not be used with
pans with convex bases (Woks) or rim based pans.
10. Protecve Glove Instrucon: Before using the appliance,
always wear protecve gloves to avoid any burns.
6 Warning: If any burner fails to ignite, turn the control
knob o (clockwise). Also, turn the cylinder valve o. Wait
ve minutes before aempng to relight. Before cooking for
the rst me, operate the barbecue for about 15 minutes
with the lid closed and the gas turned on HIGH. This will
‘heat clean’ the internal parts and dissipate odour from the
painted nish.
6 Maintenance and cleaning
6.1 Cleaning and Care
6 CAUTION: All cleaning and maintenance should be
carried out when the barbecue is cooled down and the fuel
supply is turned OFF at the gas cylinder.
CLEANING: “Burning o the barbecue aer every use for
approx. 15 minutes will keep excessive food residue to a
minimum. Frequency of cleaning: Clean the grill aer every
use.
1. Outside surface
Use a mild detergent or baking soda and hot water soluon.
Non-abrasive scouring powder can be used on stubborn
stains, then rinse with water.
