Information on the transport of dangerous goods
Transportation of lithium ion batteries
and lithium iron phosphate batteries is
subject to regulations and restrictions in
accordance with the ADR and RID reg-
ulations. Lithium ion batteries are dan-
gerous goods and are therefore subject
to the regulations on the transport of
dangerous goods. According to the
ADR and RID, lithium ion batteries are
Class 9 dangerous goods and are
therefore assigned the following UN
numbers:
■ UN 3480: Lithium ion batteries
■ UN 3481: Lithium ion batteries con-
tained in or packed with equipment
