Danger
Transporting safety-critical bat-
tery modules in the box supplied
can cause personal injury and
environmental pollution.
The condition of the faulty bat-
tery module must be assessed
before transport according to the
following table.
Answer the following questions to assess the battery mod-
ule (DE: according to special provision 376):
Yes No
Does the battery module tend to degrade quickly?
Does the battery module tend to react dangerously?
Does the battery module tend to produce a flame?
Does the battery module tend to generate dangerous heat?
Does the battery module tend to release hazardous, toxic, corro-
sive or flammable gases?
Faulty battery module classed as
Safety-critical Non-safety-critical
If the answer to any one of the above
questions is "Yes", the faulty battery
module is classed as "safety-critical".

tery modules in the box supplied
can cause personal injury and
environmental pollution.
Safety-critical battery modules
must not be transported in the
box supplied.
The transport of safety-critical battery
modules must be checked by an authori-
ty in accordance with ADR 2017 Trans-
port Category 0:
DE: BAM
CH: Cantons
If the answer to all of the above ques-
tions is "No", the battery module is
classed as "non-safety-critical".
A non-safety-critical battery module may
be transported in the box supplied.
Pack the battery module according to
these instructions: See next chapter.
