Overview

This document describes the VIOMI Cleaning Robot, model V-RVCLM21B, a robotic vacuum cleaner designed for household floor cleaning. The robot offers intelligent recharging, global cleaning, and network configuration capabilities, all managed through a user-friendly interface and a dedicated mobile application.

Function Description

The VIOMI Cleaning Robot is primarily designed for automated floor cleaning. It features a laser radar for navigation, allowing it to map its environment and plan efficient cleaning routes. The robot can perform global cleaning, starting and suspending tasks with a simple button press or via the app. It also supports intelligent recharging, automatically returning to its charging dock when cleaning is finished or the battery is low. The robot is equipped with a water tank for wet cleaning and a dustbin for dry vacuuming, making it suitable for various cleaning needs.

Usage Features

Startup and Shutdown: The robot can be started by long-pressing the power button for 3 seconds. It will automatically start up when connected to the charging dock. To shut down, long-press the power button when the robot is stationary. The robot cannot be shut down while connected to the charging dock.

Cleaning Modes: Users can initiate global cleaning by short-pressing the power button or through the app. The robot also has a "Recharge mode" activated by short-pressing the recharge button or via the app. If the battery is low, the cleaning function cannot be enabled.

Recharging: After cleaning, the robot automatically returns to the charging dock. If the battery runs low during cleaning, it will recharge and then resume cleaning from where it left off. If the battery is exhausted, the robot can be manually placed on the charging dock.

Light Indications: The robot's button light provides status feedback:

  • Off: Power-off/sleep state.
  • Blue light blinks continuously: Network configuration state.
  • Blue light flashes in a breathing manner: Starting up/upgrading firmware.
  • Blue light remains on: Idle/standby/cleaning/pause state.
  • Yellow light blinks slowly: Recharging state.
  • Yellow light flashes in a breathing manner: Charging state.
  • Red light blinks fast: Fault/troubleshooting state. The charging dock also has a blue light to indicate power-on working state.

Network Configuration and Firmware Upgrade: To enter network configuration mode, press and hold the power and recharge buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The mobile app allows users to query and update the device firmware. During upgrades, the robot should be charging with at least 60% battery. After successful network configuration, the app enables remote cleaning, scheduled cleaning, and other functions. The robot does not support 5.8G frequency band Wi-Fi networks. To unbind the app, press and hold the recharge button for 5 seconds until a sound is heard, then press it again for 5 seconds for initialization.

Pause and Sleep: During operation, pressing any button pauses the robot. Pressing the power button again continues cleaning, while pressing the recharge button sends it back to the charging dock. If no operation is performed for 5 minutes, the robot enters sleep mode. It can be woken up via a button press or the app. The robot will not sleep while charging and will shut down automatically if sleep time exceeds 12 hours.

Fault State: In case of abnormality, the red button light blinks fast, and a voice prompt is heard. If no operation is performed for 5 minutes in a fault state, the robot enters sleep mode.

Water Tank and Duster Management: For wet cleaning, open the rubber cover of the water tank, fill it with water, and then close the cover. Install the water tank into the robot, ensuring the clip is properly installed. Attach the duster to the duster bracket using Velcro, then push the duster bracket to the bottom of the robot. It is recommended not to use the water tank for the first cleaning, if the robot is unattended, or when charging/idle. If carpets are present, virtual walls should be set in the app.

Cleaning Preference: The mobile app allows users to select cleaning modes: ECO, Standard (default), and Strong.

Do Not Disturb (DND) Mode: In DND mode (default 22:00-07:00, configurable via app), the robot will not respond to resume cleaning, scheduled cleaning, or give voice prompts.

Resume Cleaning Mode: If the robot's battery runs out during cleaning, it automatically returns to the charging dock. Once fully charged, it resumes cleaning from where it left off. Manual interruption during charging cancels the resume cleaning task.

User-defined Area and Designated Area Cleaning: The app allows users to define specific areas for cleaning. Users can also designate a target position on the map, and the robot will plan a route to clean a 2x2 square area around it.

Scheduled Cleaning: Cleaning tasks can be scheduled via the app. The robot will start cleaning at the designated time and return to the charging dock afterward.

Virtual Walls and Map Memorization: Virtual walls can be set in the app to restrict the robot from entering certain areas. If "Memorize Map" is enabled in the app, the robot saves the updated map and virtual walls after cleaning and successful recharging.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the VIOMI Cleaning Robot.

Dustbin:

  1. Open the top cover and remove the dustbin.
  2. Open the HEPA component, take it out, and empty the dust.

Boundary Sensor: Clean the boundary sensor regularly with a soft cloth.

General Maintenance:

  • Clean or maintain the robot and charging dock when they are in power-off or idle state.
  • Never sprinkle any liquid into the product; the dustbin should be wiped dry before reinstallation.
  • Do not place the robot upside down as it may damage the laser radar.
  • The adapter supplied with this product can only be used at an altitude below 2000m.

Battery and Charging Maintenance:

  • Use only the battery, power adapter, and charging dock supplied by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use non-rechargeable batteries.
  • Never attempt to remove, repair, or modify the battery or charging dock.
  • Do not place the charging dock near heat sources.
  • Do not use a wet cloth or any liquid to wipe the product.
  • Dispose of waste batteries responsibly, preferably through a professional organization.
  • Transport the product in a power-off state in its original packaging.
  • If the product is to be left unused for a long time, turn off the robot after full charging and store it in a cool, dry place. Recharge it at least once a month to prevent battery damage.
