How to improve the venting of my Vissani Ventilation Hood?

  To ensure your Vissani Ventilation Hood vents properly, verify the distance between the cooktop and the hood's bottom is between 457.2 mm (18 in.) and 762 mm (30 in.). Confirm that the ductwork meets all requirements, using round metal ductwork with a uniform diameter of 150 mm (6 in.), not exceeding 10.7 m (35 ft) in length. Reduce duct length and elbows as needed, ensuring all joints are properly connected, sealed, and taped. Check that the duct does not open against the wind and that no birds or animals have nested in it. Use high speed for heavy cooking. Close windows and doors to eliminate outside airflow.

  If your Vissani Ventilation Hood fan seems weak, first, check that the duct size is at least 152 mm (6 in.). The range hood won't function efficiently with an insufficient duct size. Also, verify that the duct isn't clogged with debris and that the tight mesh on the wall cap (if present) isn't restricting airflow. Ensure the damper unit is opening properly, if applicable, and check that no birds or animals have nested in the duct.

Why is the fan on my Vissani Ventilation Hood not working properly?

  If the lights on your Vissani Ventilation Hood work, but the fan is not spinning, is stuck, or is rattling, the thermal protection system may have detected that the motor is too hot and shut it down. In this case, the motor will function properly after the thermal protection system cools down (approximately 10 minutes). Also, check that the fan isn’t jammed or scraping the bottom. If these steps don't work, the motor may be defective or seized, and you may need to replace it.
