This document is a user manual for the Volta VT1 Electric Kick Scooter, an eco-friendly product designed for personal entertainment and transportation. It provides essential information regarding the device's functions, usage, and maintenance, ensuring safe operation and prolonged lifespan.
Function Description
The Volta VT1 Electric Kick Scooter is equipped with a high-efficiency direct current brushless motor and a digital smart driver with low voltage protection. It features a high-capacity battery designed for long distances and high performance, complemented by a high-quality suspension system for a fun and comfortable ride. The scooter also includes a circuit stopper brake switch for safe riding and motorcycle equipment conforming to European standards.
The control panel features four LED lights that indicate the battery level. Four lights signify a full battery, three lights indicate 75% power, two lights show 50% power, and one light means 25% power or lower. The lower LED light can be white or green; it is white during normal use and green when the scooter is in economical mode.
Economical mode offers a lower maximum speed and lighter acceleration, making it suitable for beginners. To start the vehicle, the power button must be pressed and held for 2 seconds. Pressing the power button twice switches between normal and economical modes.
The scooter incorporates an energy recovery system that automatically slows the vehicle when the throttle arm is released. This system also recharges the battery to some extent during deceleration. For a hard stop, the brake arm should be used.
Usage Features
Assembly:
- Place the handle connection pipe and press the folding pin.
- Position the handle vertically.
- Secure the handle with the provided Allen wrench and screws.
- After assembly, press the power button on the control panel to confirm the vehicle is working.
Riding Instructions:
- Turn on the power and check the battery level on the indicator.
- To start, place one foot on the ground and push forward with the other foot.
- Once the scooter gains speed (above 5 km/h), place both feet on the chassis and use the throttle arm to accelerate.
- To turn, lean your body slightly in the desired direction (left for left turns, right for right turns) and slowly turn the handle.
Safety Instructions:
- Avoid using the scooter in the rain.
- For balanced riding on rough surfaces, bend your knees slightly and maintain a speed between 5 and 10 km/h.
- Be cautious in areas with low clearances to avoid head injuries.
- Do not increase speed when going downhill.
- Do not accelerate while walking alongside the vehicle.
- Avoid riding over obstacles; go around them instead.
- Do not hang heavy items from the handle.
- Ensure both feet are on the main chassis while riding.
- Do not use the scooter on highways or crowded pedestrian areas with sharp turns.
- Avoid riding through water pools deeper than 2 cm, as this can damage the motor, driver, or battery.
- The scooter is designed for single-person use; do not ride with more than one person.
- Do not press on the rear fender.
- Avoid touching the disk brake immediately after use, as it may be hot.
- Keep both hands on the handle while riding.
- Do not climb or jump down from obstacles.
General Safety Suggestions:
- The electrical kick scooter is for entertainment purposes and not a highway vehicle. Always follow instructions for public use.
- Be aware of different floor types and adjust speed accordingly.
- Respect pedestrians, especially children, by lowering speed and maintaining distance.
- Adhere to local traffic regulations and safety guidelines.
- Do not allow inexperienced individuals to use the scooter without proper instruction and safety equipment.
- Before each use, check for loose parts, low tire pressure, unusual noises, or low battery. Address any faults immediately before riding.
Maintenance Features
Cleaning and Storage:
- Clean dirt with a damp cloth or toothbrush.
- Minor scratches on plastic parts can be removed with thin sandpaper.
- Do not use alcohol, oil, gas oil, or other corrosive/flammable solutions for cleaning.
- Avoid washing the scooter with high-pressure water.
- Ensure the scooter is completely dry before turning it on.
- After charging, disconnect the charging device from the scooter first, then from the plug. Store the charging device in a safe, dry place.
- Store the scooter in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight. Extreme temperatures can rapidly deteriorate the vehicle and decrease battery lifespan.
Battery Usage:
- Use only original Volta batteries to prevent dangerous incidents.
- Do not open or attempt to remove the battery.
- Avoid touching the battery with metal objects to prevent short-circuits and potential harm.
- Use only the original charging adapter to prevent battery or vehicle failures and fires.
- Recycle broken batteries at authorized service centers.
- Charging after each use extends battery lifespan.
- Avoid exposing the battery to temperatures above 50°C or below -20°C, and keep it away from fire, as high temperatures can cause the battery to burn out.
- If not used for 30 days, charge the vehicle and store it in a dry, cool place. Not charging for prolonged periods will decrease battery lifespan.
- Charge the battery when its power level drops below 20%.
- Optimal usage and performance occur at room temperature. Performance decreases significantly at temperatures below 0°C.
- A fully charged scooter, when off, can hold a charge for 120 to 180 days. If left uncharged for over 120 days, it may not turn on, and battery failures under such conditions are not covered by warranty.
Disk Brake Setting:
- If the brake is too tight, loosen the screw with an Allen wrench by turning it counter-clockwise. Shorten the brake cable and then tighten the tightener.
- If the brake is too loose, extend the brake cable and tighten the tightener.
Brake Settings (Folding Pin):
- If experiencing problems with turning, tighten the two screws next to the folding pin with an Allen wrench.
Inflating the Tires:
- If tire air pressure is low, remove the pressure relief lid and inflate with an air pump. (Not applicable for solid tires).
Folding and Transporting:
- Ensure the scooter is off.
- Hold the handle, open the folding pin, and lower the handle to the back.
- Use the special hook on the rear fender to secure the handle.
- To unfold, release the handle from the hook, raise it vertically, and press the folding pin.
- The scooter can be carried by its handle in its folded state.
