Volvo 2001 - Reconditioning; Turbo-Compressor Disassembly and Inspection

Make
line-up marksbetween the turbine housing, the
bearing housing and the compressor
housing . Dismantle
the compressor housing (1) . Unscrew the left-hand
threaded nut which holds the compressor wheel, using
dollies on the turbine shaft . Remove the compressor
wheel
(2) and dismantle the turbine housing (3)
.
RECONDITIONING
Dismantle the turbine shaft (4) and the heat shield . If the
turbine shaft sticks, tapthe end gently with a wooden
hammer . Unfasten the three screws which hold the cover (3)
and screw two M5 screws into the cover . Then lift it up .
Take the oil deflector (7) out of the cover .
