Glass-cleaning detergent

Non-alkaline type detergent for cleaning glass, to avoid corrosion and affect results.

Reference liquid for testing, obtained from specified sources or qualified suppliers.

Test fluid

Methanol-water mixture used for checking glass plate cleanliness.

Apparatus

General

Equipment must comply with ISO 6452 dimensional requirements and yield equivalent results.

Thermostatically controlled bath

Operates up to 130 °C, maintaining temperature within ± 0.5 °C.

Cooling plates

Hollow, corrosion-resistant metal plates for cooling glass plates, maintaining mean water temp of 21 °C.

Flat-bottomed beakers

Heat-resistant glass beakers with specified dimensions and minimum mass.

Metal rings

Corrosion-protected steel rings to keep test pieces flat, with specified dimensions and mass.

Sealing rings

Fluoro-rubber or silicone rubber rings with specific dimensions and hardness.

Float-glass plates

Glass plates for condensation, specified thickness and dimensions, with consistent reflectometer values.

Filter paper

Filter paper with specified diameter and mass per unit surface area.

Aluminium foil discs

Discs for laboratory use, specified thickness and diameter, handled with gloves to avoid contamination.

Reflectormeter

Instrument for measuring gloss with a 60° incident and 60° measurement beam.

Spacer

Device to prevent contact with glass plate during reflectometer measurements.
