5 Operation
5.4 Machine travel
There are two different operating modes:
• Work mode
Includes all work, such as for moving earth, gravel, coarse gravel and
rubble.
• Road-travel mode
Designates machine travel on public roads. No work may be performed
in road-travel mode. In road-travel mode, specific measures must be
taken for preparing machine travel on public roads – see chapter “
Vehicle travel on public roads” on page 4-37.
Accident hazard due to incorrect adjustment of travel direction!
Can cause serious injury and death.
► Ensure that the surrounding area is clear.
► Set the forward-reverse control to the required position before starting
machine travel.
Accident hazard due to machine rolling away under its own weight!
Can cause serious injury and death.
► Change over the travel direction only if the machine is at a standstill
and if the service brake is actuated.
Accident hazard due to travel direction changeover during machine
travel!
Can cause serious injury and death.

The forward-reverse control is located on the joystick on the right.
