Why is my WAGNER Measuring Instruments pH electrode giving incorrect readings?
- WWhitney MaciasJul 27, 2025
Your WAGNER Measuring Instruments pH electrode may be giving incorrect readings because the electrode’s glass ball has been damaged or the liquid junction has been blocked by a solution. To resolve this, soak the electrode in a solution of 0.1 ml/L hydrochloric acid dilute for 24 hours, then wash it with distilled water and soak it in the protective solution for another 24 hours. Alternatively, if the electrode has serious deposits, soak it in 4% HF (hydrofluoric acid) for 3 to 4 minutes, wash with distilled water, and then soak in the protective solution for 24 hours.
