Open the Bluetooth devices settings by running 'bthprops.cpl' in Windows XP.
Initiate the pairing process by clicking 'Add' and confirming device discoverability.
Select the scanner, choose a passkey method, and prepare for connection.
Click 'Next' to display a unique connection code on the PC screen for scanner entry.
Scan specific barcodes for factory default, connection, and start pin as prompted.
Scan barcodes corresponding to the digits of the connection code displayed on the PC.
Complete the wizard, and test the connection by scanning data into an application.
