Overview

This document is an instruction manual for the Waterdrop G3 Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System, model WD-G3P800-W.

Function Description

The Waterdrop G3 is a reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration system designed to provide filtered water. It incorporates multiple stages of filtration, including activated carbon, pre-sediment and carbon block, and a reverse osmosis membrane. The system also features a UV sterilizer for enhanced water purification. It is intended for under-sink installation and connects to the cold water supply.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Model: WD-G3P800-W
  • RO System Size (LWH): 18.12" x 5.67" x 17.72"
  • Feed Water Pressure: 14.5-87 psi / 0.1-0.6 MPa
  • Feed Water Temperature: 41-100 °F / 5-38 °C
  • Feed Water Requirement: Municipal Tap Water
  • Max Daily Production Rate: 800 GPD (measured under 30 psi dynamic feed water pressure and 77 °F water temperature)
  • Power Specification: Input 110-240V AC, 2.5A
  • Rated Frequency: 50/60Hz
  • TDS Rejection Rate: Above 90% (under standard laboratory conditions, may vary with source water quality and usage)
  • Noise Level: Will not exceed 65 dB (tested under standard laboratory conditions)
  • Filter Life:
    • Activated Carbon Filter (CB: WD-G3-N3CB): Up to 12 months or 1,600 gallons (for chlorine reduction only)
    • Pre-sediment and Carbon Block Filter (CF: WD-G3-N1CF): Up to 6 months or 800 gallons (for chlorine reduction only)
    • Reverse Osmosis Membrane Filter (RO: WD-G3P800-N2RO): Up to 24 months or 3,200 gallons
  • Feed Water pH: 6.5 and 8.5
  • Turbidity: Less than 1.0 NTU

Usage Features

  • Quick-Connect Fittings: The system utilizes quick-connect fittings for easy and secure tubing connections. Tubing should be inserted until a designated mark is reached, and then secured with a blue lock clip.
  • RO Faucet and UV Sterilizer: The system includes an RO faucet with an integrated UV sterilizer. The UV sterilizer activates automatically when the faucet is turned on and water flows through it, and stops when the faucet is off or there is no water flow.
  • TDS Display: A built-in TDS sensor displays the water quality (TDS reading) on the front panel screen when the system is in operation. The display goes off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
  • Filter Life Indicators: The system housing features electronic filter life indicators (CB/CF/RO) on the front panel that change color (blue for good, yellow for pre-warning, red for warning) to notify users when a filter replacement is due. The RO faucet also displays different light colors corresponding to filter life status.
  • Automatic Flushing: The system automatically flushes in several scenarios:
    • For 20 seconds after working for two hours continuously, to maintain and extend filter life.
    • For 20 seconds when power is restored after a blackout.
    • Recycled fresh water flushing to ensure water freshness after dispensing.
  • Malfunction Display: The system provides malfunction codes (e.g., E02 for internal water leakage, E03 for booster pump overworked, E04 for frequent booster pump starting/stopping) and audible beeps to alert users to issues.
  • Safety Warnings: The appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, if supervised or instructed. Children should not play with the appliance, and cleaning/maintenance should not be done by children without supervision. The appliance is only to be used with the unit provided. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or service agent.

Maintenance Features

  • Filter Replacement: Filters can be replaced without cutting off power or water supplies, and without water or electric leakage. Users are instructed to turn off the faucet, wait 30 seconds to release internal pressure, twist off the old filter counterclockwise, and twist in the new filter clockwise.
  • Filter Life Reset: After replacing a filter, the corresponding filter life indicator must be reset by pressing and holding it for 7 seconds until the system beeps.
  • Post-Replacement Flushing: After filter replacement, the system requires flushing: 5 minutes for CF filter (automatic), 15 minutes for CB filter (turn on RO faucet), and 30 minutes for RO filter (turn on RO faucet).
  • System Cleaning: Clean the system with clear water. Do not spray water directly or use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or corrosive liquids. Avoid pouring other liquids into the filter.
  • Waste Water Pipe: Keep the waste water pipe unobstructed to prevent damage to the filter or internal components. If blocked, turn off power to avoid water damage.
  • Regular Checks: Regularly check the system and water pipe fittings for leaks, and inspect the power supply and wires for damage or looseness.
  • Extended Non-Use: If the system is not used for more than a week, turn on the RO faucet, shut off the cold water valve, disconnect power, and store sealed filters in the refrigerator (not freezer). Before using again, open the RO faucet and let it run for 10 minutes. Otherwise, filters may need replacement due to bacterial growth.
  • Well Water Pre-filtration: If using well water, ensure it has been through a pre-filtration system to prevent clogging and extend filter life.
