If the Wavecom Media Converter cannot synchronize to the traffic channel, or loses sync, it might be due to the traffic channel being in a spot beam disturbed by a neighbor channel. Check the FFT display to investigate.

Why does Wavecom W74PC Media Converter fail to synchronize with the traffic channel during a fax session?
A
Andrew MurrayAug 8, 2025
If the Wavecom Media Converter cannot synchronize to the traffic channel, the traffic channel might not be in a spot beam seen by the antenna, or the signal could be too weak. To address this, check the FFT display.

What to do if Wavecom W74PC Media Converter fax output is a .JBG file?
C
Connie HarrisAug 14, 2025
If the fax transmission is successful, but the Wavecom Media Converter output is a .JBG file instead of the default .TIF file, it is because the fax encoding is according to recommendation T.82/85. In this case, call WAVECOM for support.

How to improve Wavecom W74PC signal strength?
J
Joshua NavarroAug 27, 2025
The Signal-Noise Ratio for the control and traffic channels should be at least -18 dB as measured with the FFT of the decoder. Depending on the location of the monitoring system, a dish size of 2 – 3 m will be needed.
