Accumulaton of ear wax on the probe tp can result n less accurate tempera-
ture readngs or cross nfecton between users. Therefore, t s essental that a
clean probe tp s used before each measurement. For cleanng, please follow
the nstructons n the (Cleanng and Storage) secton.
After cleanng the probe tp wth alcohol, t s necessary to wat 5 mnutes be-
fore takng the next measurement, n order to allow the thermometer to reach
ts operatng reference temperature.
• Foraninfant,itisbesttohavethechildlayingatwithhisheadsidewayssothe
earisfacingupwards.Foranolderchildoradult,itisbesttostandbehindand
slightelytothesideofthepatient.
• Alwaystakethetemperatureinthesameear,sincethetemperaturereadings
maybedierentfromtherightearandleftear.
• Pleasewaitforafewminutestotaketheeartemperatureaftersleeping.
• Inthefollowingsituationsitisrecommendedthatthreetemperaturesinthe
sameearbetakenandthehighestonetakenasthereading

2. Childrenunderthreeyearsofagewithacompromisedimmunesystemandfor
whomthepresenceorabsenceoffeveriscritical.
3. WhentheuserislearninghowtousetheIRthermometerforthersttimeuntil
he/shehasfamiliarizedhimself/herselfwiththeinstrumentandobtainsconsist-
entreadings.

and Vice-versa
The Dgtal Infrared Ear Thermometer can dsplay temperature measurements
In ether Fahrehelt or Celsus. To swtch the dsplay between °C and °F, smply
turn OFF the unt, press and hold the Start button for 5 seconds; When you
stop pressng the Start button after 5 seconds, the current measurement sca-
lef C or °F con) wll be ashed on the dsplay. Toggle the measurement scale
between °C and °F by pressng the start button agan. When the measurement
scale has been chosen, wat for 5 seconds and the unt wll enter the ready for
measurng mode automatcally.
