Thank you for purchasing the Welch Allyn Elite Electronic Stethoscope.
The Elite Electronic features unique patented Sensor Tech® technology that allows you to hear subtle
sounds such as diastolic rumbles, gallop sounds, high pitch wheezes/crackles and Korotkof sounds better
than conventional stethoscopes. Its independent volume controls allow you to vary the amplification up
to a maximum of 93 dB. The Heart & Lung filter settings allow you to focus in on specific frequencies
and its special head design helps reduce unwanted noise. Another feature of the Elite Electronic Stetho-
scope is the sound port located at the rear of the stethoscope (2.5mm stereo) that allows you to connect
to an external sound reproduction or recording device for teaching purposes, documenting patient infor-
mation or for doing simple patient education. Welch Allyn offers several companion products to facili-
tate these activities such as The Distributor and The Analyzer. Visit www.welchallyn.com to see all the

Sensor Tech® acoustic sensor located in the center of the diaphragm for optimum sound transfer and
clarity. Sound is reproduced directly at the earpieces to maximize quality. Earpieces are adjustable.
The Elite Electronic Stethoscope chestpiece has a wide base allowing for sta-
ble and comfortable auscultation. The actual sensor is located in the center
(white area) of the chest piece. This allows you to access body sounds even on
small, uneven surfaces (or pediatric patients).
The Meditron sensor is highly directional and can pick up even faint signals
very effectively. Varying the pressure applied to the chestpiece during auscultation, is a good way to
hear how the Sensor Tech® technology works.
On patients with thick hair in the auscultation area apply some gel on the area first. This will help reduce
the potential for picking up the sound hairs make as they move across the sensor.
This will not harm the stethoscope.
