2 Preparation
2.1 Charging
The appliance as supplied is not yet ready for operation with the re-
chargeable battery. However, you can use the appliance immedi-
ately on mains power (See “Mains operation” on page 33).
The appliance should be charged for 3.5 hours before being
used for the first time without the power cord.
It is not possible to “overcharge” the appliance.
NOTE:
If your salon uses the previous model as well as the new Xpert:
– You can also recharge the new appliance in the older charging
unit. However, this increases the charging time by about 20 min-
utes.
– You can also recharge the old appliance in the new charging
unit, but this does not bring any reduction in charging time.
1. Before charging the appliance for the first
time, remove the charging unit

Check whether the mains voltage agrees
with the voltage specified on the rating
plate (on the mains adapter

Plug the power cord

into the charging
unit, and plug the mains adapter

into a
wall socket.
4. Place the charging unit on a flat surface.
5. Place the appliance in the charging unit.
NOTE:
You can also charge the battery by connecting the power
cord directly to the appliance (See “Mains operation” on page 33).
