This document is a user manual for Westinghouse dishwashers, specifically models WSF6604WA and WSF6604XA. It provides comprehensive information on the appliance's functions, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
Function Description:
The Westinghouse dishwasher is designed for domestic use, offering efficient cleaning and drying of dishes. It features multiple wash programs tailored for different soil levels and item types, including Prewash, Fast 30' 40°C, Delicate 40°C, Eco 50°C, TimeSave 50' 65°C, and Heavy 65°C. The control panel includes an On/Off button, program selection buttons (up/down), a Tablet option button for combined detergents, a Delay button for timed starts (3h, 6h, 9h), a Child Lock feature, a Start/Pause key, and program monitoring lights (Wash, Rinse, Dry, End). An important feature is the Rinse Aid Indicator, which alerts the user when rinse aid needs refilling. The Half Load button allows for reduced energy and water consumption when washing smaller loads. The dishwasher also incorporates a Super Active Drying system (model WSF6604XA).

Saving a Favourite Program:
Users can save frequently used programs and options by selecting the desired program and options, then pressing the "up" and "down" buttons together. To select a favourite program, press the "Up" button for 3 seconds.
Detergent Usage:
Only use detergents specifically designed for domestic dishwashers (powder, gel, or tablet). The detergent compartment has level lines for measuring the correct amount (max 40cm³). For heavily soiled dishes, 25cm³ is recommended; for less soiled, 15cm³. For dried food waste or a fully loaded dishwasher, 5cm³ can be added to the base of the door. Combined detergents (2-in-1, 3-in-1, etc.) are available, but users should check product specifications and adjust rinse aid settings accordingly. Tablet detergents should always be placed in the detergent compartment, not directly in the basket.
Rinse Aid Usage:
The rinse aid compartment should be filled to the MAX level. The rinse aid level can be set from 1 to 5 (factory setting is 4) to optimize drying and prevent spots or blue stains. To adjust, turn on the machine, press the Up button for 5 seconds, then use the Up/Down buttons to select the desired level, and turn off the machine to save.
Maintenance Features:
Regular cleaning is crucial for the machine's longevity.
- Door Seals: Wipe regularly with a dampened cloth to remove residues.
- Filters: Clean at least once a week. The filter system includes a micro filter, coarse filter, and metal/plastic filter. To clean, turn counter-clockwise, lift, and rinse under tap water. Ensure correct refitting.
- Spray Arms: Check for clogging. Remove and clean under water. The lower spray arm pulls upwards, and the upper spray arm nut turns left to remove. Ensure the nut is perfectly tightened when refitting.
- Hose Filter: The inlet hose filter prevents contamination. Turn off the tap, remove the hose, clean the filter under the tap, and refit.
- Oil and Lime Accumulation: Run a high-temperature program without dishes, or use a specialty dishwasher cleaner.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides a table of trouble codes (indicated by flashing program lights) and possible faults with corresponding solutions. Common issues include:
- Start/Pause light flashing: Door open.
- Program not starting: Plug not connected, indoor fuses, water inlet tap off, door not closed, power not on, clogged filters.
- Control light off after wash: Power on/off button not released.
- Detergent residues: Wet compartment, large dishes blocking dispenser.
- Water left in machine: Clogged/twisted drain hose, clogged filters, program not finished.
- Partial food wastes: Incorrect loading, overloaded basket, insufficient detergent, unsuitable program, clogged spray arm/filters, clogged drain pump.
- White stains: Insufficient detergent, low rinse aid dosage, high water hardness.
- Dishes not dry: No dry operation selected, low rinse aid, unloaded too fast, program too cool.
- Rust on dishes: Insufficient stainless-steel quality, high salt level, unhealthy mains grounding.
Important Notes:
- Always ensure the machine is unplugged and water tap is off before maintenance.
- Leave the door slightly ajar after a wash program to aid drying and prevent odors.
- Do not open the door during a program or if power is interrupted, as the program will resume or terminate.
- For optimal drying and energy use, open the door approximately 10cm at the end of the program and allow dishes to cool.
- In freezing conditions, drain all water from the machine.
