Why does the compressor motor seem to run too long on my Westinghouse Refrigerator?

A compressor motor that seems to run too long in your Westinghouse Refrigerator is normal. The variable speed compressor and fan run at high speeds when first started and on warm days to provide extra cooling. They may run at a lower speed but still not switch off when less cooling is needed. The compressor and fan may only stop during defrosting, which happens about once a day.
