How to fix ice maker not making ice in Westinghouse WHE6874 Refrigerator?
    • G
      garroyoAug 20, 2025
To resolve this, ensure the ice maker is turned on. For the fresh food ice maker, press the ice maker on-off button once. Also, connect the refrigerator to the household water supply and ensure the water valve is open. Make sure the water supply line doesn't kink when the refrigerator is pushed against the wall. Remove and reinstall the water filter, ensuring it's fully seated in the locked position. If water dispenses slowly or not at all, or if the filter is six months old or older, replace it.

Why is Westinghouse WHE6874 ice maker not making enough ice?
    • B
      Bobby WhiteAug 22, 2025
To address this, replace the water filter if water dispenses slower than normal, or if the filter is six months old or older. Ensure that the supply line does not kink when the refrigerator is pushed into place against the wall. If you have a well system, have someone turn up the cut-off and cut-on pressure on the water pump system. Note that if you have a reverse osmosis system, it is normal for it to be below 20 psi during the regenerative phase. The ice maker will produce approximately 2.3 pounds of ice every 24 hours depending on usage conditions.

    • R
      rmcgeeAug 26, 2025
If your Westinghouse refrigerator's dispenser isn't dispensing ice, first, check if there is ice in the bin. If not, refer to the section on 'Ice maker is not making any ice'. Ensure the refrigerator doors are completely closed. If the dispenser paddle has been pressed too long and the dispenser motor has overheated, the motor overload protector will reset in about three minutes, after which ice can be dispensed.

    • J
      Jonathan NavarroAug 31, 2025
If ice cubes are freezing together in your Westinghouse refrigerator, remove the ice container and discard the ice. The ice maker will then produce a fresh supply. To prevent this, use ice at least twice weekly to keep the cubes separated. Also, replace the water filter and if the condition still occurs, check to see if the water valve is not turned on all the way or if there is a kinked water supply line.

    • C
      Christie FuentesSep 2, 2025
If the doors of your Westinghouse refrigerator won't close, close both doors gently. Ensure the floor is level and solid, and can adequately support the refrigerator. If the floor is sagging or sloping, contact a carpenter to correct it. Clean the refrigerator door gaskets and interface with warm, soapy water to remove any grease, dirt, and grime from the surface, then wipe clean with a dry cloth. Inspect the gasket to ensure it is thoroughly clean.

If the compressor in your Westinghouse refrigerator does not run, this is normal for a fully automatic defrost refrigerator during the defrost cycle, which occurs periodically and lasts about 30 minutes. Ensure the plug is tightly pushed into the outlet. Check/replace the fuse with a 15 amp time-delay fuse and reset the circuit breaker.
