Why is my Whirlpool Washer vibrating so much?

  Several factors can cause your Whirlpool Washer to vibrate, rock, or 'walk'. First, ensure the front and rear feet are firmly in contact with the floor and that the washer is level; the jam nuts should be tight against the cabinet's bottom. Check for flexing or sagging in the floor; using a ¾" (19 mm) piece of plywood under the washer can help reduce sound if the flooring is uneven. Avoid raised wooden platforms. Unbalanced or excessively large loads can also cause vibration, so avoid tightly packing the load and wash single, heavy items with a few extra items to balance them. Finally, check that the shipping bolts have been removed from the back of the washer, referring to the installation instructions if needed.

  An F24 error code on your Whirlpool Washer could mean that there is too much laundry for the program/cycle, especially one with a small maximum load. To resolve this, select and start the Rinse & Spin program to complete the interrupted wash program/cycle. Avoid overloading the washer in the future, and follow the maximum load size indicated in the “Program/ Cycle Guide”. It can also mean that there is too much inlet water. Turn off the water faucet, touch and hold the Power button for at least 3 seconds to drain the water, and wait until the drain phase has ended. Turn the water faucet back on. If water immediately flows into the washer without a program/cycle being started, close the water faucet, turn off and unplug the washer, and contact a service representative.

  Clicking or metallic noises in your Whirlpool Washer can be normal if they occur when the door is locking or unlocking. The door will lock, unlock, and lock again, and you'll hear 3 clicks after touching and holding the Start/Pause button. However, such noises can also indicate objects caught in the washer drain system. Empty pockets before washing to prevent loose items like coins from falling between the washer drum and tub or blocking the pump. If the noise persists, it may be necessary to call for service to remove these items.
