  If your Whirlpool Washer isn't draining or spinning, and loads are still wet, several factors could be at play. Small items might be caught in the pump or between the basket and tub, slowing drainage; be sure to empty pockets and use garment bags for small items. Excess detergent can also cause issues; make sure you are using only HE detergent. Tightly packed or unbalanced loads might prevent proper spinning. Also, cycles with lower spin speeds remove less water. Check that the drain hose is correctly installed and doesn't extend too far into the standpipe (farther than 4.5”).

Also, cycles with lower spin speeds remove less water than cycles with high spin speeds. Another reason can be that small items may have been caught in pump or between basket and tub, which can slow draining. Empty pockets and use garment bags for small items. Make sure that drain hose is correctly installed. Drain hose should not extend into standpipe farther than 4.5” (114 mm). Using too much detergent causing suds to slow or stop draining and spinning can also be a reason. Use only HE detergent.
