Why is my Whirlpool YWED7500VW2 taking so long to dry clothes?
- PPatricia DavisAug 11, 2025
If your Whirlpool Dryer isn't drying clothes well or drying times are too long, start by cleaning the lint screen before each load. A clogged lint screen is a common cause. Also, check the exhaust vent for blockages; run the dryer for a few minutes and feel for air movement at the outside exhaust hood. If there's no air, clear the vent. Ensure the exhaust vent isn't too long or has too many turns, and that it's the correct 4" diameter. Avoid overloading the dryer, and make sure fabric softener sheets aren't blocking the air outlet grille inside the door, behind the lint screen. Finally, ensure the room temperature is above 45ºF (7ºC) and that, if in a closet, there's proper ventilation.
