This document describes the WildGuarder OWLER1 Night Vision Binoculars, a high-quality device designed for viewing in low light conditions and complete darkness, as well as for daytime use. It allows users to take pictures and videos, which can be saved to a Micro SD card and downloaded to a computer via a supplied USB cable.

The WildGuarder OWLER1 serves as a night vision device capable of both observation and recording. Usage Features
Power Supply:
The device is powered by 8pcs 1.5V AA batteries. Users need to open the battery cover on the back, insert the batteries, and then close the cover. It is important not to mix different brands, old and new, or different voltage batteries.
For external power, a 5V power bank can be used via the supplied USB cable. The USB cable can also charge rechargeable AA batteries within the device.
Inserting Memory Card:
A Micro SD card (C10 recommended) is required for saving pictures and videos. The card slot cover needs to be opened, and the card inserted chip-side up. Formatting the Micro SD card is recommended to improve battery life and shutter speed. To remove the card, press its edge until it pops out.
Basic Operation:
- Turn ON/OFF: Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds.
- Changing Mode: The device has three modes: Image mode (for taking pictures), Video mode (for recording videos), and Playback mode (for reviewing files). Press the "MODE" button to switch between these.
- Taking Pictures: In Photo mode, the lens focal length is adjustable to change the view's distance and clarity. Zooming in or out is done by pressing the "ZOOM" button. To take a photo, view the subject on the LCD screen and press the "SHOT" button.
- Recording Video: In Video mode, adjust the lens focal length and clarity as needed. Use the "ZOOM" button for digital magnification. Press the "SHOT" button to start recording; the duration will be displayed. Press "SHOT" again to stop recording.
- IR Lamp: The IR lamp brightness can be cycled through OFF, level 1, level 2, and level 3 using the "IR" button, which is useful in dark environments.
- Display Brightness: The display brightness can be switched by a short press of the power button.
- Menu Navigation: The "MENU" button accesses the menu or goes back. "OK" and "SHOT" buttons are used to check sub-menus, review media, and confirm settings.
- Settings: The menu allows adjustment of OSD language, image resolution (8MP default), burst number (1 photo default), video length (10s default), sound record (ON/OFF), date/time settings, date/time stamp (ON/OFF), date format, display brightness (Middle default), lamp auto off (OFF default), device auto off (3min default), card cycle (ON default), card format, default setup, and firmware version.
Downloading Files to Computer:
- Using a card reader: Eject the Micro SD card, insert it into a card reader, and connect the reader to a computer. The card will appear as a removable disk, allowing files to be copied.
- Connecting via USB cable: Turn on the night vision device, connect it to a computer with the USB cable. "MSDC" will appear on the display. The device will show as a removable disk, allowing files to be copied.
Troubleshooting:
- Device not turning on: Reinstall batteries ensuring correct polarity, replace with new batteries, or clean battery compartment contacts.
- Observed image too bright/dark: Adjust IR light brightness (OFF, level 1, 2, or 3) using the "IR" button.
- Image blurry: Re-focus by adjusting the lens (FAR-NEAR) until the object is clear, then fine-tune with the clarity adjustment.
Maintenance Features
Technical maintenance is recommended at least twice a year.
- Cleaning Surfaces: Clean outside metal and plastic surfaces from dust, dirt, and moisture. Wipe lenses and glass with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Battery Contacts: Clean the battery compartment's electrical contact points with an oil-free solvent.
- Lens Inspection: Inspect the glass and lenses, gently blowing off any dust or sand, or cleaning with a soft, clean cloth.
- Storage: Keep the device away from humid environments.
