SECTION 9
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
9-2
The power cord is designed to ground the
electrical system through the receptacle. It is also
designed to carry the amperage output of most
campground outlets. If the electrical receptacle to
be used is designed to mate with the prongs of the
power cord plug, the electrical connection can be
expected to carry rated load.
Connecting The Power Cord
To connect to an external source, remove the
cord from the storage compartment and plug it
into a suitable 30-amp (or optional 50-amp)
power receptacle to provide external power to
the coach and converter/charger system.
NOTE: Some parks do not have 50-amp service
available, so you will need to connect to
a standard 30-amp service pole using an
adaptor.
A flip down hatch in the compartment floor
lets you route the power cord through a passage
in the bottom of the compartment so you can
shut the compartment door while the power cord
is connected.
1. Flip the hatch downward.
2. Swivel the cover section aside to reveal cord
notch.
Do not connect the external power
cord to any receptacle until you have
contacted the owner and/or attendant
of the premises to verify proper polar-
ity and grounding.
It is the responsibility of the owner of
the electrical receptacle to ensure that
the receptacle is properly wired and
grounded.
Reverse polarity and improper
grounding of the vehicle can cause
personal injury or death.
