Overview

This document outlines the operation and administration of the Primor xxxx series of locks, providing instructions for both system and user administrators. The Primor xxxx is a sophisticated electronic lock system designed to enhance security, offering various configurations and user management capabilities.

Function Description

The Primor xxxx lock system offers flexible opening procedures, which can be subject to additional restrictions depending on the setup. These restrictions can be combined to create a tailored security protocol. Key operational features include:

  • Delay Time: This feature mandates that the lock can only be opened after a predefined delay period has elapsed. This adds an extra layer of security, preventing immediate access even with a valid code. User 9 is an exception to this rule, capable of opening the lock without waiting for the delay time to end.
  • Dual Code (Two Pairs of Eyes Principle): For enhanced security, this principle requires two valid user codes to open the lock. This ensures that no single individual can access the secured area alone. The dual code condition cannot be disabled by the user and is factory-set at level 25. User 9, while able to open alone during the delay time if the dual-code condition is active, cannot initiate the delay time by themselves.
  • Silent Alarm: If configured (level 15), the lock supports a silent alarm function. This increases the code length to 7 digits, with the 7th digit triggering the alarm when changed. The alarm contact is routed via a second connection with corresponding hardware (signal box), and a lock disable function is available via an input.
  • Penalty Time: To deter brute-force attempts, the system implements a penalty time. After 4 invalid code entries, a 5-minute penalty time is activated. Subsequently, the penalty time is re-triggered after every two incorrect entries until a valid code is entered.
  • User Management: The system allows for the creation, deletion, and management of multiple users (User 0-9, plus a Master user). Each user can have specific rights, such as opening the lock, starting delay times, creating other users, changing codes, operating the lock (blocking/unblocking), deleting users, checking the system, viewing user overviews, and setting time delays.
  • Code Changing: Both user codes and the master code can be changed. A new user code is only accepted if it differs by one digit in at least two places from an existing code.
  • Operating Lock: This function allows for all users to be blocked or released, while retaining their programmed codes.
  • System Check: A diagnostic function to verify the proper operation of the keypad. Each numeric key press should result in a double signal tone. A long signal tone indicates a non-recognized key, terminating the test and signaling a system check is required.
  • Time Delay Setting: The delay time and release time can be configured. The delay time can be increased at any time, but reduction or deactivation is only possible during the release time. To deactivate the delay, both delay time and release time must be set to specific values (00 and 01 respectively).

Important Technical Specifications

  • Power Supply: The lock is powered by a 9V block battery (alkaline-manganese).
  • Code Length: Normally 6 digits (0-9). Increases to 7 digits if a silent alarm is configured.
  • Interfaces: For locks configured to level 5, only the interface for analogue input units is active. The second connection can be used for power supply via a signal box or power supply unit. Locks with level 15 have the silent alarm function preconfigured, routing the alarm contact via the second connection and providing a lock disable function via an input.
  • Delay Time Range: 01 to 99 minutes.
  • Release Time Range: 01 to 19 minutes.

Usage Features

  • Opening Procedures:
    • P1000/P1600 (Swing Bolt): Once the locking mechanism is released, the bolt is pushed out by its own movement. When the boltwork is closed, the bolt automatically returns to the locking position under spring load. The lock closes automatically without further user action.
    • P2000/P2600 (Full Deadbolt): A full deadbolt is driven via an external axis (rotating keypad housing or operating lever). The internal locking mechanism releases the rotary movement for approximately 3 seconds after a valid opening code and all secondary conditions are met. The lock must be closed manually by the user after the boltwork returns to the closed position.
    • P30xx (Motorised Spring-Loaded Deadbolt): After opening, the deadbolt drive moves back into the closing position after approximately 3 seconds. If the bolt travel is not in the locking position (i.e., the bolt cannot retract into the free slot), it rests against the locking edges of the boltwork under spring load. When the boltwork is closed, the bolt automatically jumps into the locking position and locks without further user action.
  • Dual Code Opening: Requires two users to enter their codes sequentially within 30 seconds. Incorrect entry or exceeding the time limit terminates the input with a long signal tone.
  • Opening with Active Delay Time: A valid opening code must first be entered to start the delay time. Once the delay time has elapsed, any desired valid user code can be entered during the opening time window. User 9 can open before the delay time ends but cannot initiate the delay. An invalid code input during the release time terminates the operation, requiring the delay time to be restarted. A started opening delay can be aborted by pressing any key.
  • Menu Navigation: Accessing menu functions typically requires entering a valid user code (especially with active dual code) before selecting a specific menu option. A long signal tone indicates a rejection at the end of a menu step, terminating the procedure.

Maintenance Features

  • Battery Warning: A warning signal is emitted after code input if the battery charge is too low. This is accompanied by repeated warning tones and an alternately flashing red LED. The battery should be changed as soon as possible. Programmed codes are retained during battery replacement.
  • Locking Check: It is recommended to perform a locking check via the operating lever of the boltwork after each closing and locking. For P2000 models, the lock check is possible using the keypad position or operating toggle.
  • System Check (Diagnostic): This feature allows for checking the functionality of the keypad. If any key is not recognized during the check, the system requires further inspection.
