CARE AND MAINTENANCE
MAKING PERFECT BELGIAN WAFFLES
• Wait for the appliance to cool completely before undertaking any cleaning.
• Once the appliance is completely cool, brush crumbs from the wafe plates and
wipe with dry paper towels to remove any excess oil or residue.
• To clean the outside of the appliance, wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive
cleaners or sponges on the external or internal surfaces of the wafe maker.
• Never take the wafe maker apart for cleaning.
• If batter becomes stuck to the wafe plates, add a small amount of cooking oil to
the baked on batter and allow to sit for approximately 5 minutes. Once the oil has
softened the batter, remove with a damp paper towel.
• Never immerse the cord, plug or unit in water or other liquids. Never wash the
appliance under the tap or in a dishwasher.
• The appliance is designed to be stored horizontally. Store the appliance with the cord
wrapped under the base
• Gently close the lid of the wafe maker. The lid will not close completely and will
rise slightly as the wafes begin to cook. Do not open the wafe maker during the
cooking process, particularly during the rst 90 seconds of baking. This allows the
wafes to become extra crisp.
• For best results, bake the wafes for 5-7 minutes on the maximum temperature
setting. This will ensure the wafes have a crispy, golden nish.
• For lighter coloured wafes, start checking the cooking progress after 5 minutes. For
darker coloured wafes, check the wafes at 6-7 minutes.
• Once the wafes have nished cooking, loosen the edges with a heat-proof non-
metallic spatula. Do not use metal utensils on the wafe plates as this can damage
the non-stick coating.
• Once the wafes have been removed from the appliance, unplug the unit from the
wall outlet and allow the appliance to cool completely with the lid open.

Read the below cooking tips to get perfect crisp wafes every time:
• Once the batter has been added to the wafe plate, do not open the lid of the wafe
maker until a minimum 5 minute cooking time has elapsed. This allows the wafes to
cook evenly and stay ultra crisp.
• Do not remove wafes from the appliance until they are completely cooked. This
takes 5-7 minutes depending on the desired colour of the nished wafe.
• For lighter coloured wafes, start checking the cooking progress after 5 minutes. For
darker coloured wafes, check the wafes at 6-7 minutes.
• Use 2 cups of wafe batter per batch. Exceeding the 2 cup limit may cause the batter
to ooze out of the appliance.
• Baked wafes can be kept warm in a low oven. Place in a baking pan and cover
loosely with foil.
• Baked wafes can be frozen and reheated. Allow the cooked wafes to cool, then
place in a storage container and freeze. Reheat in a toaster when ready to eat, or
warm in a low oven.
