  Belt slippage on your Woods Lawn Mower can occur due to mower overloading from material that is too tall or heavy, oil contamination from over-lubrication, or the belt being obstructed. Reduce the tractor's ground speed while maintaining full PTO rpm. Consider cutting the material twice: once with a high pass and then at the desired height. Cut a partial swath. Avoid over-lubricating, clean any lubricant from the belt and pulleys with a clean rag, and replace any oil-soaked belts. Ensure the belt moves freely in the pulleys and belt guides, and check under the mower and around the blade spindle shafts for any foreign materials, cleaning them away.

To resolve this, reduce ground speed while maintaining 540 rpm at the tractor PTO, or make two passes over the material, raising the mower for the first pass and lowering it for the second, cutting at a 90° angle to the first pass. Also, raise the rear of the mower enough to allow material to discharge, but not so high as to cause other issues. Allow the grass to dry before mowing, and adjust the mower height and attitude.
