Overview

This document describes the WORCRAFT TS-2000A table saw, a power tool designed for precise cutting of various materials.

Function Description

The WORCRAFT TS-2000A table saw is intended for both longitudinal and transverse cutting of wood, including straight cuts and angle cuts up to 45°. With the appropriate saw blades, it can also be used to cut non-ferrous metals, light building materials, and plastics. The machine features a saw bench with an extendable table, a saw blade guard, a riving knife, and a rip fence for guiding workpieces. An on/off switch with an overload protection switch ensures safe operation. The cutting depth and angle can be adjusted using a hand wheel and locking handle, respectively. A dust suction port allows for connection to an extraction system to minimize dust accumulation.

Usage Features

The table saw is designed for specific cutting operations. Always ensure the saw blade guard and riving knife are correctly mounted and in working order for through-cutting operations. The riving knife is crucial for reducing kickback, especially when cutting workpieces where the saw blade completely cuts through the material. For operations requiring removal of the guard (e.g., folding, grooving), the protective system must be reattached immediately afterward.

Before starting, verify that the saw blade does not contact the guard, riving knife, or workpiece. Adjust the riving knife according to the manual to ensure proper spacing and alignment, which is critical for preventing kickback. The riving knife is ineffective for very short workpieces that cannot engage it. Always use a saw blade appropriate for the riving knife, ensuring the blade body is thinner and the cutting width wider than the riving knife's thickness.

When sawing, keep hands and fingers away from the cutting area. Guide the workpiece against the rotational direction of the saw blade. Never use the mitre stop for longitudinal cuts or the parallel stop for transverse cuts, as this increases the risk of jamming and kickback. Align the rip fence parallel to the saw blade to avoid kickback. For concealed cuts, use a thrust collar to guide the workpiece. Exercise caution when cutting assembled, twisted, knotted, or warped workpieces, or large panels, providing adequate support to prevent tilting and kickback. Never cut multiple workpieces stacked together.

To start the saw, press the green "I" button on the ON/OFF switch (11) and wait for the blade to reach maximum speed. To stop, press the red "0" button. The overload protection switch (11a) will turn off the device if the nominal current is exceeded; allow the machine to cool before resetting.

Adjust cutting depth by turning the hand wheel (12). Turn anticlockwise for shallower cuts and clockwise for deeper cuts. For angle cuts, loosen the locking handle (13), adjust the angle with the hand wheel (12), and then re-lock.

For longitudinal cuts, use the rip fence (15) on the right side of the saw blade. The guide rail (14) has two scales to indicate the distance between the rip fence and the saw blade. For narrow workpieces (less than 120mm wide), always use the push stick (9). For cross cuts, slide the transverse stop (7) into the table grooves (31a/31b), loosen the handle screw (32), adjust the desired angle, and re-tighten. Ensure the stop rail (34) is not too close to the saw blade (approx. 2 cm distance).

Maintenance Features

Before any maintenance, adjustments, or assembly, switch off the saw and disconnect it from the power supply. Regularly clean the machine housing with a soft cloth after each use, keeping ventilation slots free from dust. For stubborn dirt, use a soft cloth dampened with soapy water; avoid solvents like petrol, alcohol, or ammonia, as they can damage plastic parts. The machine does not require additional lubrication.

Regularly inspect the saw for wear or damage, especially the bench insert (2), which should be replaced if worn or damaged. When replacing the saw blade (3), wear safety gloves. Loosen the nut with a saw blade spanner (22a) while holding the motor shaft with another spanner (22b). Rotate the nut in the direction of saw blade rotation. Clean the blade flange thoroughly before installing a new blade. Ensure the new blade is inserted in the correct direction of rotation, with the teeth's cutting slope facing forward. After reassembly, verify all safety equipment functions correctly, including the saw blade guard (4), which should automatically return to its starting position when released.

The device is constructed according to modern safety regulations, but residual risks may still exist, such as electrical shock from an improper power cable. These risks can be minimized by following all safety instructions. Avoid overloading the machine, as excessive pressure during sawing can quickly damage the saw blade and reduce cutting performance.
