Overview

The Worldline Self/7000 and Self/8000 are modular unattended payment terminals designed for various applications such as petrol stations, transport, vending, and parking. These terminals are built to withstand both indoor and outdoor harsh weather conditions. The Self/8000 must always be connected to the Self/7000 master device. These two-component terminals are successors to the iSelf series and XENTEO Eco, aiming to enhance the unattended payment experience. They provide a complete solution for EMV payments and run ep2 applications from Worldline. Both terminals are PCI PTS 6.x certified, including SRED.

Self/7000

The Self/7000 is a hybrid card reader capable of processing contact, chip, and magnetic cards. It requires connection to a Self/8000 device to enable contactless card processing and PIN code entry. The Self/7000 is designed for rear installation in kiosks and complies with the EVA EPS (Compact Door Module) standard.

General Product Installation

  • Professional Installation Requirements: Installation must be performed by qualified electronics engineers in accordance with Worldline's recommendations and local regulations for electrical safety and radio emission levels.
  • Packaging: Check the complete bill of material upon receipt. It includes 1 terminal, 1 fixing plate, 1 gasket, 1 power adaptor, and 1 HDMI cable. M4 locknuts and washers for mounting are not included.
  • Location Selection: Terminals are designed for unattended indoor and outdoor use. Electrical installations must comply with local and regional codes (e.g., IEC).
    • Select a convenient, accessible location on the machine.
    • Ensure terminals fit the mounting position, card reader and PINPAD/NFC device face the cardholder, display is readable, and card slot is accessible.
    • Ensure sufficient space inside the vending machine for mounting brace, ground connection, cable routing, and access to the rear side.
    • Avoid exposure to rain or hostile weather.
    • Mount vertically to reduce water ingress into the chip card reader.
    • Ensure free air circulation around components.
    • Take measures to avoid condensation/humidity in outdoor environments (e.g., heating/ventilation, keeping terminal active).
    • Avoid direct sunlight on the display to prevent reflections.
    • Ensure PIN privacy by locating the display outside the field of vision of cameras/mirrors and away from stairs.
    • Use ESD protective clothing when handling devices.
    • Regularly check for signs of tampering after installation.
  • Product Gasket: Assemble correctly to ensure IP ratings.
  • Evacuation Pipe (Self/7000): Guides water inside the kiosk. Ensure correct hose orientation.
  • Installing the Modular Terminal:
    • Gasket Positioning: Lugs (pins) in the rubber should fit into terminal openings.
    • Mounting: Line up terminal with front panel opening, clamp EVA frame with four locknuts (not included), tighten in a Z-pattern. A cut-out with standard EVA EPS door module dimensions is required. Torque value: 1.0-1.3 Nm. Do not over-tighten nuts.

  • Configuration: Devices are delivered with an operating configuration loaded from the factory. Software and parameter definition files are installed. Configuration changes can be made by loading the latest software from SCS using the Self/7000 master device.
  • Operating Life: Minimum operating life of 5 years.
  • Cleaning Instructions:
    • Disconnect all cables before cleaning.
    • Clean the external front of the contactless reader regularly with a soft cloth slightly soaked in soapy water.
    • Clean the glass carefully due to special surface treatment.
    • Do not clean electronic components.
    • Never use solvents, detergents, or abrasive cleaners.
    • Avoid pressurized liquids.
    • Do not expose to direct sunlight.
  • Repairs and End of Life: Maintenance beyond manual description must be done by Worldline or an approved service center. Contact vendor for disposal information. Do not discard, give away, or sell terminals as they contain materials requiring professional handling for recycling. Products are labelled according to European Directives 2012/19/EU (WEEE) and 2006/66/EC (batteries and accumulators) for separate collection and recycling.

Safety Recommendations

  • Operating Safety: Keep terminals away from heat, fire, high voltage, radiation, shocks, and abrasive chemicals. Ensure terminals are firmly fixed, kiosk/vending machine is protected from dust, sunlight, rain, wind, and flying parts, and operating temperature is between -20°C and 65°C. Use only supplied or compliant power adaptors. Disconnect power adaptor before cleaning or maintenance. Never drop, throw, slam, or vibrate terminals. Prevent liquids from entering. Do not use extension cables for power. Connect only recommended cables. Avoid storing/installing near excessive voltage fluctuation, electromagnetic fields, microwave radiation, deep freeze, or defrosting systems. Avoid storing near food or explosive substances. Never open terminals.
  • Integrators: Implement procedures for regular on-site checks to ensure no cameras, skimming devices, or foreign objects are present. If suspicious activity or "tampered" warning message appears, disconnect power, alert police/computer crime unit, alert acquirer, and alter regulator. Integrators are responsible for compliance with local standards, integration rules, and industry practices. Worldline is not responsible for non-compliant integrations.
  • Merchants: Check Self terminals daily for unusual cables, foreign objects in card readers, warning messages, visible damage, and matching serial numbers.
