What to do if the yellow indicator light is on in my Würth EWI 160?
    • J
      Juan YangAug 11, 2025
If the yellow indicator light is illuminated, several factors could be the cause. It may be due to mains voltage being too high (more than 15% above normal). In this case, switch off the welder, check the mains supply, and turn the welder back on when the power returns to a normal state. Another reason could be inadequate unit ventilation leading to overheat protection; improve ventilation conditions. The current temperature could also be too high, or the duty cycle could be over rated; in these cases, the welder will automatically recover when the temperature decreases.

      Melanie ChapmanAug 22, 2025
If the cooling fan isn't working or is turning very slowly, it could be due to a broken switch (replace the switch), a broken fan (replace or repair the fan), or a broken or loose wire (check the connection).

How to improve poor weld quality with my Würth EWI 160 (TIG welding)?
    • K
      Kristina FosterSep 1, 2025
If you're experiencing poor weld quality with your Würth Welding System during TIG welding, consider these points. Check the shielding gas flow and adjust it as needed, ensure you are using the correct ceramic nozzle to match the tungsten electrode, and check the condition of the tungsten electrode, re-grinding it to shape or replacing it if necessary.
