Using the Xerox FreeFlow® Print Server IPS Manager

For Printing and Non-Printing Application Data
To use the same stock for both printed and unprinted pages:
1. Assign the stock to the desired fuser and non-fusing physical trays using the Paper Trays selection
from the Printer drop down menu.
2. Assign the stock to the desired fuser and non-fusing physical trays in the IPS Manager Tray
mappings dialog.
3. Assign the stock to two different virtual trays.
4. Set the Tray Type for one virtual tray containing the stock to Inserter.
5. Set the Tray Type for the other Virtual Tray containing the stock to Fuser.
As in other cases, once the setup for an Inserter Bin job has been created, it is helpful for a System
Administrator, or other expert, to store the initial mapping in a job setup profile, which can then be
invoked by the operator, when the application must be run again.
Coding an AFP Application to use a non-Fuser (Interposer) Tray
To develop an application to use a non-fuser tray, a FORMDEF needs to be created with a COPYGROUP
command specifying the BIN and CONSTANT subcommands. The BIN command specifies the tray
number and the CONSTANT command specifies whether the tray is a non-fuser (interposer) tray. For
example, for an application using three input trays with variable data and a fourth tray being a non-
fuser tray, the following FORMDEF commands can be used:
COPYGROUP CGB1
BIN 1;
COPYGROUP CGB2
BIN 2;
COPYGROUP CGB3
BIN 3;
COPYGROUP CGB4
BIN 4;
CONSTANT FRONT;
In the job data, the user must include a page break for any sheet which uses the interposer tray. See
the PPFA Reference for further details.
