Object Containers
The IPDS object container command set allows a number of image formats to be embedded into an
IPDS data stream. The FreeFlow Print Server supports single-page TIFF and JPEG (JFIF) image formats
in object containers.
Including images to be supported in the IPDS data stream simplifies and streamlines the datastream
creation and provides flexibility to incorporate resources in native format without conversion.
Object containers can be included using a Write Object Container Control command followed by one or
more Write Object Container commands. A pre-existing object can be reused with the Include Data
Object command.
The following are limitations in the support:
Multipage TIFF images are not supported
Any alpha channel transparency map is ignored.
Any orientation tags are ignored. An image can be rotated using the IPDS datastream.
ICC profile data in the image is ignored in favor of the IPDS Color Management resources.
