Overview

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 is a personal electric scooter designed for recreational use, offering a safe riding experience for individuals aged 16 to 50 years. It operates with pure electric propulsion and is intended for single-person use. The scooter is not a medical instrument and should not be used for acrobatic purposes or to transport cargo, passengers, or children.

Function Description:

The scooter is a leisure device that provides personal mobility. To activate the motor and accelerator, the scooter requires an initial coasting motion. The accelerator does not function when the scooter is stationary. It features a disc brake system for stopping. The scooter is equipped with a battery that powers its electric propulsion, and it includes a charging system. A headlight is provided for riding at night. The scooter also incorporates a folding mechanism for storage and transport.

Usage Features:

Before riding, users must read the instruction manual carefully and familiarize themselves with the scooter's operations. It is crucial to correctly install all parts as instructed in the user manual, ensuring all bolts and screws are tightened properly to avoid loss of control, collisions, or falls. Users should always wear appropriate safety gear, including a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads, to minimize injury risk. Shoes must be worn; riding barefoot, in high heels, or sandals is prohibited.

When riding, users should adhere to local traffic laws and regulations, respecting pedestrians' right of way and giving them a heads-up with the bell when passing from behind. It is important to maintain a safe distance from other road users and avoid high speeds, especially in unfamiliar areas. The scooter's braking performance and tire-to-road friction can deteriorate in wet conditions, making it harder to control speed and increasing the risk of losing control. Therefore, slowing down and braking early in wet weather is essential.

Users should be vigilant at all times, looking around before and during riding and braking to avoid injury to themselves or others. It is advised to avoid riding over obstacles, on rugged or wet roads, loose surfaces, or steep slopes. When encountering obstacles that are dangerous due to their shape, height, or slipperiness, it is recommended to dismount and walk. The scooter should not be ridden in bad weather, low visibility, or after intense physical exertion. Riding alone in remote areas is discouraged; if accompanied, others should know the destination and expected return time.

Awareness of the scooter's added height (with the rider and helmet) is important, especially when riding indoors, through doorways, or in other low-height places. Loose clothing that might get trapped in the wheel should be avoided. Protective eyewear is recommended to shield eyes from dirt, dust, and insects; darker lenses are suitable for bright conditions, while clearer lenses are better for dim conditions.

The scooter should be recharged when the low-battery icon appears to ensure adequate power for high-speed riding. It is crucial not to charge the product when the socket is wet and to keep it away from children, pets, and flammable materials. The battery should not be placed in environments with extreme temperatures (above 50°C or below -20°C). If the battery is damaged, emits strange odors, smokes, or overheats, it should not be used, and a leaking battery should be kept away from other objects.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for prolonging the scooter's service life, ensuring safety, and minimizing breakdowns. This includes checking the tire pressure regularly, at least once a month, and inflating them to the recommended pressure of 50 psi to prevent blowouts and extend tire service life. The tires should also be inspected for cracks, deformation, or excessive wear.

The tightening of various bolted elements, including wheel axles, the folding system, the steering system, and the brake shaft, should be checked regularly. Specifically, the screw connecting the handlebar assembly with the stem assembly, the accelerator screw, and the brake lever screw should be tightened to their recommended torques. The screw fixing the disc brake caliper should also be tightened to its recommended torque.

The disc brake system should be checked to ensure the disc brake and caliper remain parallel, are not deformed, do not rub against each other, and do not make unusual sounds. Brake adjustment may be necessary if the brake is too tight or too loose, using a 10 mm wrench.

Cleaning the scooter involves wiping stains with a damp cloth; for stubborn stains, toothpaste and a toothbrush can be used. Alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or other corrosive and volatile chemical solvents should not be used for cleaning. High-pressure water sprays should be avoided, and the scooter must be turned off with the charging cable unplugged and the rubber flap closed during cleaning to prevent water leakage.

For storage, the scooter should be kept indoors in a dry and cool place, away from direct sunlight, overheating, or overcooling, which can accelerate tire aging and compromise battery lifespan. If the scooter is to be left idle for more than 30 days, the battery should be fully charged and stored in a dry, cool place, with recharging every 60 days to prevent damage. The battery should always be fully charged after every use to extend its life.

The battery should not be removed by the user, as this is a complicated process that can alter the machine's operation. If the product is under warranty, an authorized repairer should be contacted for battery-related issues. If not, a specialized repairer can be consulted. The battery pack should not be disassembled, squeezed, punctured, or exposed to water or fire. Only the original battery charger should be used. Improper disposal of used batteries can seriously pollute the environment, so local regulations for disposal should be followed.

The steering system should be checked by turning the handlebar 60° to the left and right to ensure the turning angle is correct and that steering is free from resistance and stagnation. Any modifications or transformations to the vehicle, including the steering tube, stem, folding mechanism, and rear brake, are prohibited. Sharp edges caused by use should be eliminated.
