Overview

The Mi Electric Scooter is a sports and recreational vehicle designed for personal transportation. It offers a blend of style, convenience, and functionality for urban commuting and leisure rides.

Function Description

The Mi Electric Scooter is an electric-powered personal mobility device. It features an accelerator for propulsion, a brake lever for stopping, and a control panel for managing various functions. The scooter is designed to be easily assembled and set up, allowing users to quickly get it ready for use. It includes a headlight for visibility, a brake light for safety, and a scooter bell for alerting pedestrians or other riders. The folding mechanism allows for compact storage and easy carrying, making it suitable for multimodal transport or storing in small spaces. The scooter also incorporates a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) which automatically initiates slow braking when the accelerator is released, contributing to energy efficiency.

Usage Features

To operate the Mi Electric Scooter, users first need to ensure it is charged and powered on. The power level is indicated by four lights on the control panel, which change from solid to flashing and eventually turn off as the battery is consumed. The scooter offers two modes: regular mode (indicated by a white light) and power-saving mode (indicated by a green light), which limits the maximum speed to 18km/h and provides smoother acceleration, ideal for beginners. The power button allows users to turn the scooter on/off, activate/deactivate the headlight, and switch between modes.

Riding the scooter involves stepping on the deck with one foot and kicking off with the other to initiate movement. Once the scooter starts coasting and reaches a speed exceeding 5km/h, the accelerator can be pressed to engage the motor. Steering is achieved by tilting the body in the desired direction and gently turning the handlebar. For braking, users can either release the accelerator to activate the KERS for slow braking or squeeze the brake lever for a sudden stop.

Safety is paramount when using the Mi Electric Scooter. Riders are advised to wear helmets and knee pads, especially when learning. It is crucial to maintain a speed of 5-10km/h when navigating speed bumps, elevator door sills, bumpy roads, or uneven surfaces, bending the knees slightly to absorb shocks. Riders should be aware of their surroundings, looking out for doors, elevators, and overhead obstacles. Accelerating downhill is not recommended. It is important to avoid pressing the accelerator while walking alongside the scooter and to always steer clear of obstacles. Hanging heavy bags or items on the handlebar is discouraged, and both feet should remain on the deck at all times during operation. The disc brake should not be touched during use. The scooter is not designed for riding in traffic lanes, residential areas with vehicles and pedestrians, or in water deeper than 2cm. High-speed violent turning of the handlebar is dangerous. Riding with additional passengers, including children, is prohibited. Attempting to ride up or down stairs or jumping over obstacles is also unsafe.

Maintenance Features

Regular care and maintenance are essential to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the Mi Electric Scooter. For cleaning, stains on the scooter's body can be wiped off with a damp cloth. Stubborn stains can be treated with toothpaste and a toothbrush, then wiped clean. Scratches on plastic parts can be polished with sandpaper or other abrasive materials. It is important to avoid using alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, or other corrosive chemical solvents for cleaning, as these can cause severe damage. High-pressure water sprays should not be used. During cleaning, the scooter must be turned off, the charging cable unplugged, and the rubber flap covering the charging port securely closed to prevent electric shock or other issues from water leakage.

When not in use, the scooter should be stored indoors in a dry and cool place. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, overheating, or extreme cold can accelerate tire aging and reduce the lifespan of both the scooter and its battery pack.

Battery maintenance is crucial. Only original battery packs should be used, as other models or brands may pose safety risks. The battery contacts should not be touched, and the casing should not be dismantled or punctured. Metal objects should be kept away from the contacts to prevent short circuits, which can lead to battery damage, injuries, or even fatalities. The original power adapter should always be used to avoid potential damage or fire. Used batteries must be disposed of according to local regulations to protect the environment. After each use, fully charging the battery helps prolong its lifespan. The battery should not be stored in environments where the ambient temperature exceeds 50°C or drops below -20°C (e.g., inside a car under direct sunlight for extended periods). Disposing of the battery pack in fire is extremely dangerous and can lead to failure, overheating, or fire. If the scooter is expected to be idle for more than 30 days, the battery should be fully charged and stored in a dry, cool place, with recharging recommended every 60 days to prevent damage not covered by the limited warranty. Prolonged periods without charge can irreversibly damage the battery, making it impossible to recharge.

The disc brake can be adjusted if it is too tight or too loose. For a tight brake, the M4 hexagon wrench can be used to loosen the caliper screws, allowing the brake cable to be slightly pushed back to shorten its exposed length, then the screws are tightened. For a loose brake, the screws are loosened, the brake cable is slightly pulled out to lengthen its exposed length, and then the screws are tightened. If the handlebar and stem sway during riding, the M5 hexagon wrench can be used to tighten the screws on the folding mechanism.

For flat tires, the extended nozzle adapter is used by removing the screw-on cap from the valve and connecting the adapter for pumping. Removing and installing tires requires specific steps, including deflating the inner tire, using crowbars (not included) to prize off the outer tire, and carefully reassembling the inner and outer tires, ensuring proper inflation and alignment. It is recommended to wrap the pointed end of the crowbar with fiber cloth to prevent damage to the inner tire and hub coating.
