Function Description

The Mi TV is an Android TV designed for entertainment, allowing users to cast content from various devices and access a wide range of applications. It supports multiple input sources including USB, HDMI, satellite, antenna, and network connections, enabling connectivity with computers, game consoles, Blu-ray/DVD players, and digital set-top boxes. The TV is equipped with audio technologies like Dolby Audio and DTS-X, DTS Virtual X, enhancing the sound experience. Chromecast built-in functionality allows seamless streaming of movies, TV shows, music, games, and sports from Android or iOS devices, Mac or Windows computers, or Chromebooks.

Usage Features

The setup process for the Mi TV is straightforward, starting with unboxing and careful handling. It is recommended that two or more people move the TV due to its size and weight, avoiding pressure on the LED panel, shaking, or excessive vibrations. When moving the TV to a new location or for repairs, it should be packaged in its original box and materials.

For installation, the TV should be placed on a smooth, flat surface to prevent it from falling. If wall-mounting, an authorized TV wall mount should be used, ensuring correct screw diameter and length to prevent internal damage or the TV falling. The TV should be installed near an easily accessible AC power outlet.

Proper ventilation is crucial for the TV's longevity and performance. Users should not cover ventilation holes or insert objects into the case, and a space should be maintained around the TV for airflow. When wall-mounting, the TV should not be mounted flat, upside-down, backwards, or side-mounted. It should also not be placed on a shelf, carpet, bed, or closet, or covered with fabric or other materials like newspapers.

The AC power cord must be used correctly to prevent fire, electric shock, damage, or personal injury. The plug should be fully inserted into the AC outlet, and the TV should be used with a 200-240V AC power supply. For safety, the AC power cord should be unplugged when connecting other cables. It's important to keep the AC power cord away from heat and to clean the plug regularly, as dust and water vapor can degrade insulation and pose a fire risk. The AC power cord should not be pinched, bent, modified, or twisted excessively, and heavy objects should not be placed on it. When disconnecting power, pull the plug, not the cord. Users should avoid connecting too many devices to a single AC power outlet or using unsuitable AC power outlets.

The TV should not be installed or used in certain environments or conditions that could cause malfunction, fire, electric shock, damage, or personal injury. These include outdoors (especially in direct sunlight), by the sea, on a ship or other vessel, inside a car, in a medical institution, at an unstable location, near water, or in places exposed to rain, moisture, or mildew. It should also not be placed in hot, damp, or dusty places, where insects may enter, or where it may be exposed to mechanical shock. Flammable objects (like candles) should not be near the TV. The TV should not be exposed to dripping or splashing water, and no items containing liquid (like flower vases) should be placed on top of it. Avoid placing the TV in a damp or dusty place, or a room with steam or fumes (near a stove or humidifier), and do not boil water, heat, cook noodles, or use mosquito coils near the TV.

The TV should not be used with wet hands, when the case is open, or with unauthorized accessories. During a lightning storm, the TV should be disconnected from the AC power cord and outlet. It should not be installed in an open-air location.

Children should be prevented from climbing the TV and small objects should be kept out of their reach to avoid swallowing. Optional accessories or devices that emit electromagnetic radiation should be kept away from the TV to avoid image distortion or noise.

In case of problems such as a damaged AC power cord, an unsuitable AC power outlet, damage due to a drop or impact, or liquid/solid objects falling into the case, the TV should be immediately turned off and unplugged, and a Xiaomi repair center should be contacted.

Maintenance Features

To maintain the Mi TV, regular cleaning of the screen and case is recommended. Before cleaning, the AC power cord must be disconnected from the outlet. To prevent deterioration of casing materials or corrosion of the screen coating, a soft cloth should be used to remove dust. If dust persists, the cloth can be slightly moistened with a mild detergent. Water or detergent should not be sprayed directly onto the TV, as it may drip into the screen's base or external parts, causing malfunction.

Abrasive cleaning agents such as scrub pads, alkaline/acid cleaners, scouring powder, or volatile liquids (alcohol, volatile oils, thinners, insecticides) should not be used. Prolonged contact with rubber or vinyl products can also damage the screen surface and casing materials. Regular cleaning of the vents is recommended to ensure proper ventilation.

When adjusting the TV's angle, it should be moved slowly to prevent it from slipping or moving from its base.

The TV screen and case may become warm during operation, which is normal. The TV does not support decoding of DTS-CD bitstream from HDMI IN.

For disposal, the product should be taken to the nearest service center of a Xiaomi authorized agency or an authorized E-waste Recycler. Users should always look for end-of-life equipment handling information in the product catalogue. Used electronic products, batteries, or accessories should be dropped off at an Authorized E-Waste Collection Center/Collection Point. Packaging materials should be separated according to responsible waste disposal options and sorted for recycling. Users should not dismantle electronic products on their own, throw them in bins with a "Do not Dispose" sign, or give e-waste to informal or unorganized sectors like local scrap dealers or rag pickers.

The Mi TV complies with RoHS requirements in the European Union (Directive 2011/65/EU and its subsequent amendments directive (EU) 2015/863) regarding the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The simplified EU Declaration of Conformity states that the radio equipment type MI TV complies with Directive 2014/53/EU. The device is restricted to indoor use only when operating in the 5150-5350MHz frequency range in certain EU countries. The Wheelie Bin symbol indicates that e-waste should not be disposed of in municipal waste bins due to its hazardous nature and the need for special recycling.
