TheactiveglassesX101workinautomaticmode–thereisnopowerswitchtoturntheglasses"ON"
or"OFF".Uponreceivingtheglasses,theyareintheoff‐mode,meaningthattheglassesperiodically
check forthe valid IRsignal. Inthe off‐modethelenses appear green.Upon
receivingthe IR signal,
theglassesstartawarm‐upsequence.
Warm‐upsequence‐Duringthe warm‐upperiodthelensesremain opaqueforthe entirewarm‐up
periodwhichlasts fortwoseconds.Attheendofawarm‐upperiodtheglassesgointonormalrun‐
mode.In
thismode,thelensesopenandcloseinsyncwiththeprojectortodeliverthe3Dexperience
totheviewer.
Clearmode‐Wheninrun‐mode,after theglassesloosea validsynchronization signal,theygotoa
clearmode (both lensesclear). Inthe clearmode, both lensesremain open,
so thattheviewer can
seenormallythroughtheglasses.Thelensesremainopenuntiltheglassesareabletoreceiveasync
signal.Iftheydon'treceivethesignalinfiveminutestheygotoanoff‐mode.
Batterylife‐Theglassescheckforalowbatteryconditionjust
beforegoingtothe"off‐mode".Ifthe
batterylifeisinsufficientthelenseswillbeginblinkingslowly(thelensesareclosedandbrieflyflash
open simultaneously once every two seconds) to indicate a low battery condition and prevent the
glassesfromgoingtorun‐mode.Thecontrolcircuitisdesigned
sothatalowbatteryconditiondoes
notappearduringtherun‐modewhenwatchingamovie.
Replacingthebattery‐Accesstothebatteryisprovidedthroughanopeningontheinteriorsideof
the framethat is sealedoffby a cover.In the caseof dead battery,the
sealis opened using akey,
