Overview

This document is an instruction manual for the Yabano Water Kettle, model KE4012. It provides essential information for safe operation, usage, and maintenance of the appliance.

Function Description

The Yabano Water Kettle is designed to heat water. Its sleek gooseneck design allows for precise control of water flow during pouring, which is particularly beneficial for brewing coffee as it enables slow and even saturation of coffee grounds to extract optimal flavor. The kettle features built-in temperature control, allowing users to select and maintain specific water temperatures for various beverages.

Important Technical Specifications

The kettle body is made of SUS304 stainless steel, and the lid is made of SUS (Stainless Steel). The temperature settings range from 104°F (40°C) up to 212°F (100°C). The kettle has an overheat protection feature that automatically shuts off the appliance if it is turned on without water. It includes a "Keep Warm" function that maintains the water temperature for 30 minutes.

Usage Features

Getting Started:

  1. Remove all packaging.
  2. Place the kettle on a flat, dry surface.
  3. Plug the power base into a wall outlet.
  4. Before first use, fill the kettle to the MAX line with water, boil it, then pour it out and rinse. Repeat this process several times to clean the kettle.
  5. If the kettle is turned on without water, the overheat protection will activate. Allow the kettle to cool for at least 15 minutes before refilling.

Operating the Kettle:

  1. Remove the kettle from its base and fill it with water up to the desired level, but not exceeding the MAX line located inside near the handle.
  2. Place the lid on the kettle and set it back on the power base.
  3. Once placed on the base, the kettle will beep, and all indicator lights will turn on. "000" will be displayed on the LED screen, indicating it's connected.
  4. The current water temperature will be displayed for about 5 seconds. If no action is taken, the kettle enters standby mode, and the power button blinks slowly until unplugged.
  5. Press the power button (it will turn red) to activate temperature adjustment.
  6. Use the Increase/Decrease Temperature Button to set the desired temperature. Each press adjusts the temperature by 2°F, while a long press adjusts by 9°F. The available temperature range is 104°F to 212°F.
  7. If the set temperature is lower than the current water temperature, the kettle will turn off.
  8. Once the water reaches the set temperature, the kettle will beep once and turn off.
  9. To maintain the water temperature, press the "Keep Warm" button. If no button is pressed for 30 minutes in keep warm mode, the kettle will turn off.

Temperature Recommendations for Beverages:

  • Blends for babies: 104-140°F
  • Green and white tea: 175-185°F
  • Instant coffee: 194°F
  • Black tea: 212°F

Lid Tension Customization: If the lid is too hard or too easy to remove, its tension can be adjusted:

  1. Remove the lid from the kettle.
  2. Use a tool to adjust the tabs on the kettle lid.
  3. Pushing in the tab decreases tension, making the lid easier to remove.
  4. Pulling out the tab increases tension, making the lid harder to remove.
  5. Adjust and test until the desired tension is achieved.

Maintenance Features

Cleaning the Exterior:

  • Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish.

Cleaning the Interior (Descaling): Lime scaling can build up inside the kettle with regular use.

  1. Fill the kettle with water and add vinegar or lemon juice.
  2. Let it sit for 1 hour, then boil the water.
  3. Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly with cold water.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 if necessary (1-3 times).
  5. To eliminate any vinegar smell, boil water several times and pour it out.
  6. Wipe the interior and exterior surfaces with a cloth. Regular descaling is important to protect the kettle from damage.
