The attenuator will reduce all signals (and noise) by 10 dB, and it may be used to make
reception more pleasant under extremely noisy conditions.
1. Set a band (“A-Band” or “B-Band”) on which you wish to activate the “attenuator” to
the “Operating” Band (indicated in large character).
2. Press and hold the key for one second to enter the Set Mode.
3. Rotate the DIAL knob to select Set Mode Item

4. Press the key briefly to enable adjustment of this Set
Mode Item.
5. Rotate the DIAL knob to change the setting from “
OFFOFF
OFFOFF
OFF” to
“
ONON
ONON
ON”.
6. When you have made your selection, press the PTT key to
save the new setting and exit to normal operation.
7. If you wish to disable the attenuator, just repeat the above procedure, rotate the DIAL
knob to select “
OFFOFF
OFFOFF
OFF” in step “5” above.
1) When the attenuator is activated, the “ ” icon
will appear on the display.
2) The attenuator does not activate on the AM/FM
Broadcast Bands.
3) The attenuator can be set independently on each operating band of the “A-Band”
and “B-Band”.
