DESCRIPTION BEHAVIOR
CAN messages are not being received from other
nodes - ( Dash Node 16)
Lost Communication from display has no effect on
truck behavior. Visual & password interface
inoperative.
Probable Causes and Test Procedures
5. Verify CAN Communication Lines:
a. Check continuity from Pin 2 (Wire 900) to Diagnostic connector Pin B.
b. Check continuity from Pin 2 (Wire 900) to Display Pin 3 4.
c. Check continuity from Pin 3 (Wire 901) to Diagnostic connector Pin A.
d. Check continuity from Pin 3 (Wire 901) to Display Pin 3
YES- No wiring fault found, controller at fault, contact Service Engineering.
NO- Determine location and repair fault in associated wire.
6. Check for CANbus short circuit(s):
a. Disconnect the Battery cable to truck.
b. At the CANbus diagnostic connector ensure:
• Across Pin A & Pin B = 60 Ohms +/-10%
• Across Pin A & Pin C = >47 kOhms
• Across Pin B & Pin C = >47 kOhms
YES- Controller is suspect and likely damaged, contact Service Engineering.
NO- Using the CANbus diagram, go point to point to find where in the harness the fault has
occurred, and repair or replace harness.
